I have a couple of Brodex alloy poles. 35' and 18'.
I use the 18' with a vikan cill brush with fan jets for windows and fascias but not as my main pole. More a back up.
The clamps have come loose. 2 completely and 1 with a bit of a twist by hand. I estimate the pole has had a total of 50 hours use if that. It's only 7 months old.
I phoned their customer service today to ask what glue was needed, if it was available from them and what they thought had caused it.
I had some gobby guy telling me that I probably use it in all weathers and rain. I had filled the clamps with grit and then forced them shut thus breaking the glue on the clamp. He did not sell the glue but B and Q did and I needed araldite rapide and sandpaper. I asked him why as after being spoken to like that I thought now it would be appropriate for me to return it and he could supply these materials foc while repairing it for me. I explained that my other poles from ionics etc were just fine but he wasn't listening.
The type of fault that had occurred was caused by grit I had stuffed into the clamps!!!
I thanked him and assured him that I wouldn't bother him again because I would never be buying anymore from them. The pole is good and all that was needed was the offer of some glue foc and I probably still would have declined and gone and bought some.
Brodex. No Thanks.

You won`t need that, it will last........if you don`t extend it, only use it indoors and don`t turn the water on ;).

Stu Mac
I am a southern non rainy window cleaner ;D
This pole still looks like brand new. I am not going to let it wind me up for the cost involved.
I forgot to mention he kept suggesting that I could carry out this "essential" maintenance on my day off.!!! Perhaps when its raining to avoid the glue washing out.

i never bother with glue i take clamp off section then put black insulating tape around section a couple of times then you need to tap clamp back on with hammer really tight fit i place a bit of wood over top so as not to damage clamp works a treat never moved in 6 months , better than glue it only needs re-doing every so often, REALLY CRAP CUSTY SERVICE THOUGH , BUT ROBUST POLE'S
