I see froman old post that you got a Clarke booster pump for your 4040, does it work well, does the extra pressure bring the tds down?

Hi Lee .... yup got a clarke booster pump and does bring tds down a couple from being un-pumped and does produce water a lot faster ...................... only thing is I got the wrong pump  ::)

got the one that switches its self on and off between 3.5bar and 5.2bar so it dont run permantly ... i can override the pressure switch apparently by removing it as someone on here kindly told me but no need to yet as makes it fast enough for me at the moment ... long term it will damage my 4040 due to fluctuating pressure.

think someone else on here went for a clarke which stays on permantly.

Thanks ian, when I end up getting one I might have to pick your brains about the 1" connection reducer you got if that's ok  ;D

in fact as im an anorak and thought it may be helpful to others at a later date i have photo's of what u need which will post tonight as off out to do battle with the glass now  ;)

These are the fittings I got from a plumbers merchants.

1 is a conex type compression reducer fitting and the other is a soldered reducer fitting ... takes them down from 1 inch to a normal half inch hosepipe size of 12.5mm but manages to get hose over the 15mm section of copper pipe.

these next photos show the finished item ... the connectors supplied by machine mart (at extra cost) are crap and snap dead easy when tightened so I used them just to keep the hoses straight.

The inlet on the left still leaks ever so slightly from the non return valve supplied standard with the pump but as only had the 1 I didnt want to overtighten it and snap it so just keep bucket there to catch the drip which possibly has even stopped now ?

dont know but any that dont have a little box on the side with pressure switch inside
