I found out a very interesting point regarding building a good customer base.
Has anyone got a form like this I can edit for my own needs, it basicly has the custy you have cleaned name and address then about your business. Then you post in the surrounding houses so they see you cleaned mrs x in the hope they then phone you.
Please help

Something about pushing customers names and addresses through other people's letter boxes doesn't sit comfortably with me, and I bet it's against the data protection act.
I know it's innocent enough, and common sense tells me that no harm could come of it, but without the customers prior permission (the one whose name and address you're going to use), I don't think you ought to do it.

Permission would be granted..

In that case I think you ought to try it. Maybe it'd work? Ben's Gutters always tries to give the impression that they do a lot of gutter cleaning in the local vicinity, as if they're a local business; so maybe this would work better?
Let us know the results if you do it, I'd be interest to read them.

if you have a good flyer???
then get on your computer and just print off a load of small sized notes: 'join many of your neighbours in recieving our regular & reliable window cleaning service'. recommendations available at no. 56, 67 .....
that way they will know at least one or two of the houses you already do in that road and will ask the customer if your any good.
end result more work and makes round more compact ...
