Title: help with new hose & reel
Post by: sunshine windows on April 13, 2011, 09:04:20 pm
Bear with me, It's a bit waffley.

I know that there's been a recent post about Gardiners hose reels, but I was wondering what hose and reel everyone else is using on here.

I currently have the red wheeled hose reels from Purefreedom, but I don't think they supply that type anymore and the newer blue ones are rubbish in my opinion. (Yes I do have one).

I would like to try Microbore as I am using 8mm mini at the minute. Is there a significant difference betweent the two of these. I remember reading a post that said the 6mm created more strain on the pumps and that the manufacturers warranty was invalid if used.

Thinking of purchasing the 6mm hose and reel from Cleaning Spot. Does anyone have this and if so, what's the verdict??.

Cheers,
Lance

The 6mm hose can cause back pressure and make the pump pulse, first hand experence! stick with the 8mm.
Have you seen the new pure freedom hose reel? saw it a the cleaning show its the dogs dangley bits

I use both and think 8mm is better. It gives a better flow rate, although the 6mm is lighter and tangles less.Hmmm now i cant decide.....8mm is best....I think?

Hi Mart,

Just been on purefreedom website and they only have 4 different reels on show. The free standing one (similar to the red ones we're using) has a blue frame and i currently have one of these and it's poop.

I might call them tomorrow to see what they have to offer.

Cheers
