Title: Just a thankyou...
Post by: Tom White on April 12, 2011, 06:59:54 pm
Well, I've had a corking day working with my van mounted system; there's still a few teething problems, but I'm ironing them out, but I've had a really fantastic day, turned over a hefty amount of work, and although I'm tired, I'm not shattered from lugging about a backpack.

This is really quite life-changing stuff.

So I'd like to thank Gold (for kick starting me into getting a van), RZ for finding me a van and giving me a free tank, and to all the other guys who offered advice, experience and opinions on what kit to get, where to get it from, what goes where, and how it works.

Thanks guys, I'm really grateful for all your help.

Here's a beer for you all (well, for the members who can drink that is  ;)):

nice one you will see a big difference amount of water you can carry and work load completed van mount deffo way to go.

you might find yourself walking to the hose getting it unstuck round wheels and stuff with the trolley/backpack everything is kinda with you but lifting 25 litre drums all day is a bit annoying why do it when you can lift a hose reel  :)

Did you look anymore into that retreat in herefordshire where people find their inner selves over a short period of time tosh?

I sent off for some info for my stepdad who I felt may benefit from the experience.

He doesn't fancy it though.

No, mate, after all that we've forked out, there's no way Wor Lass is going to let me go and drool into my belly button for 10 days; not in the near future anyway.

I'm sure she doesn't trust me y'knaa!  She probably suspects that I'm planning to go to Spain for 10 days with a 'fancy woman' and I'm using the meditation retreat as a cover up!?

Anyway, I've fallen off the 'spiritual bike' since I've stopped smoking.  I've been a bit on the restless, irritable, and discontented side; I was telling my Boodhist teacher about it last week.  I said since I stopped smoking, I've stopped meditating, reading, practising, etc; in fact I said my attitude is "Bollox to Boodhism", and you shoulda seen his eyes widen when I said that.  ;D  I forgot where I was.

He says I've got to get back on the bike and start pedalling; no coasting allowed; apparantly!   :D

Lol,  I bet he didn't like that,

He's correct though, you really do need to get back on the bike sooner rather than later :-D

That retreat setup looked good for the soul.

There's no 'soul' in Boodhism!  The soul is just your egoic identity and that dissolves when you die.
