Title: Gardiner reels review?
Post by: DaveG on April 11, 2011, 08:36:53 pm
How are you guys getting on with the new type reels Gardiners are selling?

Any leaks?  Do they fall over in van?

What are they like when you stop pulling on hose, do they stop or keep unwinding?

They say they will hold 100m of micrbore, will they hold 100m of minibore?

Cheers

Dave

I've been using one today, but I've got nothing to compare it too, and I've only used it for today, so I doubt my opinion carries much weight.

But it seems nice to use.  It comfortably fits 100 meters of microbore; Gardiners reckon it'll hold about 120 meters max.

It runs smoothly and winds in lovely.

It doesn't fall over in the back of the van (though my van isn't very fast and I take bends slowly)!

Seems nice, but it doesn't seem really robust; a bit flimsy maybe?  Time will tell I suppose.

I got 2 last week. very easy to build, took 5min each with no tools needed. they do hold 100m of 8mm hose, very soomth to wind and a good price. not sure they will last the 4 years the others we have used will.

generally very happy.
