Title: Access to side of con roof
Post by: Andrew44 on April 07, 2011, 08:26:29 am
How often would you say you need to work from next doors garden to clean the con roof at sides?

Is it not very often 10% ?  more like 50/50?

Cheers

for me its been quite low, but i have only probably done 10 or so. 2 or 3 of them i could of done with going into next doors garden, But you will be surprised how many really do not get on with their next door neighbours and say there is no chance. I have struggled from the front either using my freestanding ladder or using ladder with ladder stand off on.

I'm finding many have very poor side access.  I don't think it would be possible to clean side roof from front.  I'm thinking I'll  ened to be in next doors garden to do them but as you say - that may not alwayd be possible.

First question i ask when quoting a conny that needs access from the neighbours garden is ....

Do you get on with your neighbours i learnt the hard way and turned a 2hr job into a 3hr job.

I always ask now... if they say no i charge extra or turn the job down.

I'd probably say that 20-30% need access from a neighbours garden

If you had to do one with poor / no side access and couldn't use next doors garden, how would you do it?

From front and work off stand off ladder from 6ft up working down on to side panels?

Attach a garden hose to your pole and flush out starting closest to the down pipe.then working further away.
