Andrew,
Leaflets are pretty naff. The 'general thought' here is that you'll receive a two-percent success rate with flyers. And from personal experience, I agree with that.
I spent around two weeks - full time - putting thousands of flyers out. I ended up with a round spread out all over the place; loads of drive-betweens; but over the next two and a half years my round grew more concentrated in some areas, and those areas I didn't grow, I culled.
Unfortunately I rarely canvassed, but the majority here say canvassing is the quickest way to start a round.
So look under the cleanitup.co.uk header and click on the search function. Type in 'cavassing' and start reading.
The best bit of advice I can give is DON'T UNDERPRICE.
Welcome to the forum, Andrew. If you've any questions, just ask.

as tosh says, leaflets can be naff,
the only way to go is to cold canvass
if you do a leaflet drop follow up after by canvassing otherwise it will be a waste of time and effort

What you are doing is selling yourself. So you have to do it personally.

Hi Andrew
in my experience i find its better to buy an established round with good prices and customers, canvassing is ok if theres no window cleaner on that road or street etc, or he has packed up or left the work. That way you can make it compact saves stoppping and starting getting the ladders off the car there is a small round for sale on ebay in Derbyshire

Brett
