Title: which WFP System
Post by: JamesLord on April 05, 2011, 05:50:55 pm
Hi All

we are just about to upgrade to a WFP system, we are traditional window cleaner at the moment and have a client base of about 230+  We have had 4 demo's, we have basically got it down to Brodex and Ionics.  We would welcome peoples experience on their experience with both companies, and both systems, what flooring (Speedliner v Protecta Kote), poles  etc, both seem prettry good, there is a difference in price but putting this aside we want to know what other window clearners out there have used  have and what their experience of the systems, service, aftersales has been.

Would appreciate your comments.
Thanks
D&J

I got an Ionics system installed into the back of a Vivaro 5 years ago. They are brilliant, real sloggers. I went back to carpet fitting and did'nt even use it for ages and even now the R.O membrane still works perfect, not having been flushed for ages, even despite the frost we had. The speedliner too is a must and still looks as good today as it did years ago. I hear guys on here talking about pure freedom and some of the other systems and then I hear the prices being bandied about. They seem to be going for a pittance for what I paid. I got back into the w/c ing 3 weeks ago and launched with the help of the good weather. 30 regular custies so far. The system still is as new.
I too would like to know the difference between Ionics and Pure freedom despite the price. Is Ionis like a rolls royce as opposed to pure freedom being a Lada or how does it work? Thanks.

Over engineered & over priced.

Contrary to what you might think when you look at their masterpieces, it is very, very easy to produce pure water & pump it up a pole.

I bulit mine myself, all parts off the shelf from suppliers & it still works perfectly, day in, day out seven years down the line! ;)

i have the pure freedom hot system. Its not crash tested as ionics is but all the components are of good quality and at a fraction of the cost. i also prefer the footprint of their system, i have a lot more space in the van for other gear.

Ionics why because they work, but the clincher for me was the Thatcham crash test. Value your life then get a ionics system fitted. Don't get me wrong if you crash your life is not guaranteed, but its nice to know with 2 tonne sitting behind you ionics have done some tolerance testing. Just ask steve'o(ciu) who hit a brick wall at 40mph and the system didn't move.

I have the Pure Freedom system and its fine,it's very average like the other companies selling the likes on Ebay,Ionics are quite more expensive than these companies and the reason so is because their systems are built to last,I'm always replacing things on my system and this is because they are very basic, like their poles I have never heard about one from Ionics breaking, they are alot more expensive than other companies and their stuff is built to last and thats why their the leading manufacture of WFP systems

I have had Ionics, Facelift and built my own.
Next for me is to try Pure Freedom - with a hot system running twin pumps, hopefully with a hot air blower for cold nights/days

I have Ionics in the back. Wouldnt bother again, and the next van which will eother be at the end of this year or summer next year will be pure freedom. I think they are the best value for money.

PURE FREEDOM      for van/trolley systems/di etc

GARDINERS            for poles(preferably SLX s)

no need for any other supplier unless you want  an aqua-daptor! ;D ;D

ionics are  too expensive.brodex are a bit pricey compared to pure freedom.both provide inferior poles for the money compared to gardiners poles which are the best in the world at the moment.(IMO!) ;D ;D

one of my staff had a 70 mph crash with facelift fitted 1000 litre tank - still in place after accident, well fitted.

well our very first system was in my old transporter - its in my new transporter now.  Anyhow, its about 5 years old and was involved in a near 60mph head-on with a large tree.  Obviously the transporter was wrecked but the system (which had about 400ltrs of water in it at the time) did not budge, very well engineered and very safe.  The guy who built it doesn't build systems anymore but I'm sure he would send me the technical drawings (he was an engineer like me).

A good 4040 system in a well put together frame with all components fitted away from the driver/passengers will be every bit as good as Ionics/Brodex.

If you are in any doubt a good CHARTERED Engineer will design a frame restraint system for you which you can have manufactured by any engineering firm.  Total cost will definitely be less than £1k, add on the cost for parts etc and you're still half the price of Ionics/Brodex.
