Title: Aqua adapter and SLX
Post by: Tom White on April 02, 2011, 12:09:46 am
Can an aqua adapter be fitted into an slx?  I'm not sure if I need one right now, but I'm wondering if it can be done.

I can imagine Wor Lass spraying water everywhere while she's stroking some pet cat or something.

Cheers! ;D

Ordered two from Aqua dapters from WCW.  They're not cheap are they!  (That's a lazy ass rhetorical question that doesn't really need an answer.)  I hope they're robust.

yes they sent a spare spring with the aqua dapter when it came as i believe its a known fault. I asked for a couple more spares when i used that and they arrived within 48 hours free of charge. I cannot fault them and really like the product, But I put my last spring in on wednesday, so i will have to see if they will send me some more. They were supposed to be getting new AD's fitted with heavier duty springs, and the springs were supposed to be available on their website, But when i looked i could not see any.

If bumper can put one on anybody can,you dornt have a loop, you just tug your hose to turn of and tug again to turn on,no cutting pole.
easy to attach,

Hi David,

Sorry to hear about those issues.  The new springs should last longer, and are now listed on the website.  We've only heard of very few of the push-fit connectors failing.

The items you've mentioned are covered under our guarantee, so please contact us by email if you would like replacements sent out.

i put mine on my 25ft SLX this morning and cleaned my own windows and some of the neighbours for free!! ;D ;D

first impressions?ok!its great not to have a loop of hose at the base of the pole but the pole feels a bit top heavy now!with the extra weight at the bottom of the pole now at the top of the pole it bends the pole sections more and it feels almost like ive got a vikan brush on the end of my pole(i use a supalite) esp at awkward angles!

maybe a SL EXTREME BRUSH is now worth getting!ill probably get used to it after a few days.no work for me though until at least thursday due to van off the road. :(

Whats the weight of an aqua adapter?

Info on the site seems to be 215 g.

I do domestics, hard to reach with the pole on an angle, i would not fit one if it weighed 100g,absolute lunacy for me weighting the end of the pole like that. The hardest part of the job made harder, when i am aching on a night its the side angles that have done it.

Hi Sean,

Yes, the weights are:
Aqua-dapter (including clamp) 191g
Screw Thread Adapter (STA) 17g
Push-fit Connector 7g

It increases the reach of the pole by approx 160mm.

More info here: http://www.aqua-dapter.co.uk/pages/Technical-info.html

Most people have said that they haven't really noticed the weight difference, but we are of course taking on board all of the comments for future development.  As you mention it is the "side angles" where it could be noticed, and how much time is spent 'off the glass' at an angle, but I guess you knew that already ;-)

i reckon with a supalite extreme itll be roughly the same weight  at the top of the pole using a normal supalite without an aqua-daptor.

i think it just takes a bit of getting used to.its fantastic to have no loop at the base of the pole and its easier to move around plant pots and stuff.

i did get the pole hose caught on a corner which did turn the water on but ill watch out for that in future and try and gather all the pole hose before dragging any hose around a corner.
