ive got a packard bell net book with 1gb memory i find it just as good as a normal laptop and ive got all the programmes needed it was 300 reduced to 200 out of comet

Id love to get one set up in the van with wcp and maybe even a little printer would be smart! Not un doable
-
I have just gone and bought a new laptop this morning.
I found that the screen on the netbook is too small to take wcp very well. I was forever scrolling back and forth so I could see what I wanted. It is now gathering dust. The laptop screen is big enough to cope better.
Netbooks look good but are only really good for taking on holiday, not for everyday use really.

take a look at the Asus Eee PC, is what I take to work with me with george on and plenty good and fast enough for web browsing too.

i bought an acer aspire one from amazon, brandnew with linux £150, installed windows 7 perfect little laptop.
the windows xp version was £240.

A mate of mine sells acer aspire 1's
If you mail me, i will see what i can do
I have a refurb acer one with a solid state drive of him, which is great for the van
cost me £ 60, Looks new

why would you want to take a laptop to work with you when it only takes 5 mins at the end of each day when you get home to do.??? surely it would slow the working day down.

i couldnt be bothered with messing about with a computer at work!likes already been said i also prefer to use the time in the day for cleaning and 10 mins in the evening updating and printing invoices on my laptop!
you also run the risk of having it nicked out of the van as well as wasting time faffing about!!
ive got a decent full size laptop and no kids so my computers ALL MINE!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

I have an acer aspire one and its fantastic !!! cost about £220 from currys
I have WCP on mine and have removed some of the options that i just didnt need to see on my rounds. Yes i do have to scroll across twice when scheduling my work, but thats it.
I hate using my wifes laptop now as i find it too big. My netbook can go anywhere easily with me and can be stored away out of sight if i need to leave it in the van.

What is the main difference between laptops and netbooks? Is it to do with memory? All i do is surf internet so would i be ok with a netbook.

net books do not have a cd drive, windows give you a netbook software thats pants and if you want any feature you have to upgrade to full edition.
if you do get one upgrade the ram via amazon,
I have a netbook to take to meetings in london so I can work on the train.
I also have a laptop which is used if I stay in hotels.
I dont use these for window cleaning at all.

Cheers ian, dont want to use it for window cleaning just for internet

if its for home mate I would go with a laptop if im honest net books are ok if you only want to surf the web and take down notes, but laptop for that extra £100 you can play cd's have a full version of windows will be faster, better for your eyes as bigger screen imo
