Title: Prochem Steempro how to check vacs
Post by: Craig - CW Window Cleaning on March 28, 2011, 10:58:46 pm
hi there, I have a prochem steempro powerplus I hace a screeming noise coming from vac2 especially when wand is in contact with carpet.
How do I open up the beast to have a look? Is it just a matter of taking out all the screw bolts I can see on the exterior or is there a particular one/s to remove.

help much appreciated

Hi Sounds like the casing is fouling the fan blades., could be caused by overtightened mounting bolts. The vac needs to come off and the casing knocked away from the fan blades.

Best for an engineer with a special curved tool to remove casing and reposition.

good luck mate

May be brushes are worn right down. Just undo the bolts/screws at the handle end and the whole top end hinges open. Make sure tanks are empty.

And a tip to gain better access is to undo the main vac intake pipe, can flip it up a bit more then,.prop it up though,as mine went all the way over and snapped a retaining bolt on the front of the machine.
