Title: Alexander Swan & Autoglass
Post by: idealrob on March 27, 2011, 08:00:27 pm
driving van today on main road near golf course, and golf ball hit windscreen, causing a large area of windcreen damage, contacted insurance and the earliest the windsreen can be replaced is Wednesday afternoon, so 3 days with van off road, so no wfp for us till Thursday. Speaking to Golf club manager tomorrow and alexander Swan, we have paid for cover for other ionics vehicle, but under policy rules we have to collect from and return to  swindon.

I think you can also arrange for them to deliver the vehicle but you have to pay a delivery charge.

Call another windscreen company. I called a plan and they recommend silver shield but had to wait 2 days for a screen, so i called Auto Glass and Auto Windscreens, Auto Glass had one in stock, and was fitted that afternoon, still done on the insurance, just had to pay the excess.

Go to the police report it and get a crime number

have all details ready to give police (Date time and were)

When you see the golf club manager ask for their liability insurance

Contact the quickest windscreen replacement

Get it fixed ASAP

keep reicepts

Claim loss of earnings through the golf club

Take pictures of the screen

Any witness statements collect them

If manager says not our fault try saying you will have to seek legal advise

Regards

Shouldnt golf clubs have nets up close to roads where there is a chance of balls going towards roads ?

I think Bryan Dolby has a good point about claiming on the golf clubs insurance.

Golf club have agree to pay all losses and invoices, but only claimed for the window as we have thousand of internal windows to clean starting april, so we started a week early, and the man who looks after the 5 figure contact is a senior member of the golf club who hit us, so kept it simple, and just claimed for the window.

thanks
