Title: Hand buffer
Post by: spudd on March 25, 2011, 11:02:08 pm
Hi guys, don't really post that much on the cleaning page as I mainly deal in window cleaning.
Been doing contract cleaning for the past 5 years, I've been asked to clean and buff some marble Walls in some communal hallways I currently maintain..

I no it's a long shot but don't suppose there's anyone around the east Sussex area that would be willing to lend a hand buffer machine, be willing to pay rental..

Thank in advance grant..

You would be better to buy one, surely a car buffer would do and you can get them for about £30

I know a tiler who does top jobs who uses car buffer for this so would agree with BDCS. If it's just a maintenance shine that is, other wise i'd sub it.

Why not try an orbital sander and nylon pads

We use them or a flex machine (£300ish).

Cheapo sanders from B&Q Homebase if using them wet with diamond pads.
Price each job to include a new one.

An angle grinder and some foam and lambswool pads from the car body repair section on screwfix will work too.

Get some Bellinzoni wax or equivalent for a really nice finish.
Buff in with wire wool by hand them lambswool pad on high speed machine to finish.
