Hi. This might seem a daft question but I'm wondering if windows are harder to clean in cold or damp weather?
I do a little bit of window cleaning and I don't know if I am just imagining it, …but I get the impression that the water squeezes off the windows easier in slightly warmer weather. If it’s damp or cold, the finish doesn't seem quite as good!
Am I correct or am I just imagining it?

you have to change your rubbers depending on the weather and change them regularly as well.

Is that no I'm not imagining it. (ie windows are harder to clean in cold or damp weather!)
Or no the weather is not a factor, Re the quality of the finish?

No I would say hot weather is more of a nightmare because it can dry quickly if you dont work fast enough.
Also it can depend on what squeegee rubber you are using.
If you are using a hard rubber in the squeegee in cold or mild conditions try swapping it for a soft rubber and see if you prefer it.

yes traditional window cleaning is harder in cold damp weather.detailing and scrimming little openers becomes harder and its easier to leave smears!luckily its not much of an issue now due to wfpoling most work.
hazards include mossy,slippy surfaces if using ladders!i dont know how i managed it for so many years!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
windows take a lot longer to dry in damp weather if using wfp.sometimes all day!!!its not a problem generally unless there is workmen with stihl saws in the area or its windy as this can blow dust and dirt onto the droplets thus drying with spots.

on the squeegeeing subject make sure you have a good soft rubber in your squeegee and that the channel is not bent.use a good pro window cleaning detergent like squeegee off or gg3/4 and make sure there is enough in your bucket!(not too much though!!) ;) ;D ;D

I agree with this as I find that the windows dry very quickly in bright sunny weather so you have to be fast in order to avoid problems. I also get problems with lint in sunny conditions.
The best weather for me is dry but cloudy. I would say in response to the original poster though than it damp/wet weather is is difficult in the sense that you can get through a lot of cloths as they get wet much more quickly.

stephen the lint problem can be solved by using microfibres for detailing and buffing up little openers in hot weather.
also make sure your t mop is a lot wetter and dont soap up as many windows before squeegeeing them off!
its not rocket science just common sense!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
just one more thing i find scrim much better for detailing in cold damp weather as they staying dryer for longer!
