Sorry to bother everyone again a question about making pure water from hard water, i have the ro system coming with my pureflow trolly and have bought a 200litre water butt with a lid and tap, what do i have to do with the system to make it work do i need hose outside taps? of can i fill it up by emptying barrels in it, i dont understand how the ro system connects does in go inside the water ?
-
you need a tap to supply the RO, they work on pressure.
-
so could i connect a inside house tap with a hose going to the ro and then the ro empties pure water into my water butt? how long should i leave the tap on could i work it this way i have no outside tap thanks for the help lee

An outside tap would be best, but not essential. It takes about 8-10 hours to fill my butt :o
-
so i could connect a hose from the house tap to the ro system and then the ro system to the water butt and turn the tap on ? where would i put the waste, in the sink? would i have to have my kitchen tap on for 8 - 10 hours?

waste needs to go down a drain, and yes the kitchen tap would need to be on for 8-10 hours, or until the butt is full.
-
is there a way for the tap to turn off when full or will it overflow
-
you need an auto shut off kit, or it will overflow

You also need the hose connected to the kitchen sink to be a completely sealed unit, otherwise it will leak and splurt everywhere under the pressure.

I fitted an outside tap, it came in a kit from good old B&Q for about £15.00
