Guys,
Anyone have a solution to cleaning the crack between UPVC windows and the sill?
Washing them out takes forever and always leaves bits (particularly on first cleans); using a customer's hose is hit or miss as to whether it's available. Anyone found a narrow enough brush (or other solution) to get in there?
Thanks,
Vin

Turn your water off and use the brush with no flow. If you invested( tight sod) in a hose tap then problem sorted. What a neanderthal. :)

I've found if you tap the sill with your brush all the debris comes out quite well then just rinse it off job done
-
You get so much rubbish out of them sometimes. I just use one of the jets at 45 degrees and run along the sill. The water swirls in and then back out again further up pushing all the debris in front of it.

its a bit of a mystery how that stuff got in there in first place
-
Ive got a few jobs (window sills not patio doors) where loads of the crap comes out every time >:(
-
Some windows, very few, have sealer along there.
-
It will always catch the dirt! all you can do is seal it or just stay away from it!
-
even worse around spet/oct time with all the spiders and the crap they bring ....
-
You can't seal it up unless the windows are face drained.

ok good point! note to self! read the post in full ;D are get my coat ;D
-
now I have read it in full...if you keep getting crap then just run a micro fibre cloth along the sill to finish the job ;)

bit like fluff in your belly button ;D
-
You mean there's little men running around with buckets of fluff and crud and packing it in to tiny spaces in your mid-riff and windows?
What a strange world we live in.

Unlike you Jamie, you clot, I want to clean their windows properly, not just hide the fact that I haven't bothered.

The gsp under the frame is the for the drain of the glass,. THERE IS A SLOT OR SLOTS AT THE BOTTOM OF EACH FRAME FOR THE WATER TO DRAIN OFF THE GLASS AS IT RUNS DOWN THE GLASS.i SPRAY TFR INTO THE GAP LEAVE A MINUTE.The pushing the bristles flat against the sill sweep to one side and back then rinse and finish by rinsing the frame again.

hi mate excellent post - thought the same meself many times and thought what a pain - i either jet bulk of it off and wipe with cloth but ass you say it floods back out when youve jetted them so seem to be ages clearing.
so what ive found is wipe with damp cloth first then use an old blade accross it - keeps it simple and effective most of the time.

I meant that once you have cleaned the window, frame and sill, turn your water off and then brush the sill and nothing will come out of the crack. Did you think i meant clean the whole house with no water? You clot

i ussually just turn off the water and do a few dry passes with the brush .you'll only get that on the downstairs windows so will be able to see if there's anything coming out

I knew what you meant, but what you're basically saying is: leave the dirt under there, wipe the visible stuff off and they'll never notice. I'm looking for a way to clear out ALL the clag that gathers under there so you don;t need to worry abou tit on subsequent cleans.
Now, Jamie, you know me and you know that "Perfect" is my middle name. Unfortunately, you also know that "I'm nowhere near" is my first name.

I am indeed a clot. Looking at the finish down at the stadium, I assumed you never used water. Sorry.
