Title: TDS question
Post by: lcwalker on March 23, 2011, 06:21:49 pm
Hi i have 600 TDS reading from the tap and in my storage water butt it's 000 TDS, but i still had some water left in my backpack and 2 cans the reading in the backpack today is 001 and in one of the cans it's 006 and the other 002, the cans weren't new they were the ones ive been using for my traditional work are these readings because the cans weren't new or does the TDS rise alittle in storage.
But i gather even the 006 is exceptable is this right?.

006 will be fine. Ive had some 25 litre barrels down the side of my house for about 6 months and tested the water in them the other day, and they were still 000 ppm. Maybe the containers you are using are a bit "grubby" on the inside, or maybe you still had a bit of tap water in them??

If you're worried, pour them in your storage butt and refill
