I am looking for a van.
Just wondering if anyone has any experience of the transit LPG. 2.5 litre petrol??
Cheers

i had a ldv convoy a few years ago got the same engine as the transit.
i hated it i didn't think it was that good on gas and it was a real pain getting gas my nearest garage was about 10-15 miles away in either direction so had to make a special journey just to fill up and sometimes i would get to the garage and they would have ran out of gas so then had to go to the other garage now 20-30 miles away i ended up driving around on petrol most in my opinion it didn't save me enough to warrant the hassle of driving around to get the gas as for the van itself it always drove better when it was run on petrol
i would never get another gas vehicle diesel all the way for me
hope this helps it you do decide to go with gas my only advice would be find out where and how many garages sell gas locally
cheers mark

are you sure its a 2.5? not a 2.3?, when i was looking at the transit lpg it was the 2.3 16v engine that they put in the scorpio. they are good engines, but very thirsty.

have the Transit 145 T300 dual fuel mwb mid roof
Its a very good van does same mpg as my old transit but the bonus is it costs me less to fill up
oh and they are 2.3l petrol 145bhp

I've got a combo van on lpg, price of gas has gone through the roof recently and i'm only saving a tenner a week if that,
not really worth it even though the price is 66p litre, this time last year it was 49p, fill up at a rip off service station and its 80p litre making diesel cheaper

hi
until mr. osbourne sees you have all gone lpg and wacks 50 pence per litre duty on it. it will come, did it with diesel just did it to bio-deisel. LPG will be next.
still time to make some savings for now though.
