just had one cancel today about an hour before it was due and rebooked it for two weeks time it really hacked me off.
are one residential window cleaning jobs worth it or just a waste of time, im wondering if people see you clean a house once and not turn up again would they think you don't care of would they realise its a one off clean :(
moan over time to go out ;D ;D

id say sorry we are not back in that area for another month now ..... but we are busy so some less busy would say ok but you say ok to it once they will always do that do you!
stand your ground! remember the customers always wrong! :D

If people want a one off clean it is when i decide or when is convenient for us both if there are access issues.
Also one offs pay a premium price... not the same as the bread & butter custys
-
you gotta quote more to make it worth while and if they say no then its nothing lost.. unless you need the dosh
-
Boring quote, I know, but if the price is right, there's no such thing as a bad job. Price it high enough that if it comes in it's worth it.

Its still a job and its still money in your pocket. At least they have the good grace to tell you they only want a one off so you know where you stand. Unlike a lot of people.
-
Only if you need the work, don't forget to charge premium for extra time on one off clean. Personally never do them unless it leads to other work in the near future.
-
i dont bother with one offs !
i do manage to get some of them to agree to 2 monthly .
if youre not busy do it on your terms / price !
-
I try to steer clear of one-off cleans...as in the main they are not normally willing to pay the premium for it.
I tend to clean new customers houses twice on the first visit so one-offs would be at least double the normal price for me.
But if you need to cash go for and why not?.

I do one offs
there are several reasons they may just want a one off, moving out, up for sale, letting place out, end of tenancy etc. but also its worth remembering you are a stranger to them, trust is something earnt over time, they may not want to be tied into a regular agreement some people are just like that.
due to the above reasons some are just the once cleans but often they have led to repeat business for me and I may get called 2 or 3 times a year, you may get recommended or they may have a portfolio of rental properties you just never know, I just ask for a weeks advance notice and price a little higher of my average hourly earnings on regular jobs, work always leads to more work

today i gave a new customer 2 prices(she had asked for an as-and-when price) .i said its 9 quid for every 6 weeks or 12 quid for as-and-when
she said "okay, come every 6 weeks, for now "
what dyou reck will happen ????? :-\

;D ;D ;D ;D
it's a cracker!

It's all well and good giving a premier price but all they have to say is they want you to come regular pay the regular price first time and the cancel you and then theres nothing you can do about it.
The only way you can work it is charge everyone a higher rate for a first clean, i risk the first hoping they will become a regular.

And if you start as you mean to go on and charge double the first time, it sorts the wheat from the chaff. If they don't wanna pay they don;t need 'em cleaning that badly. Thats my take on it !!
