Title: Pub carpet cleaning

Hi all,
Was just after some views or experiences of cleaning pub and club carpets.
What sort of prices can be charged?, are they good payers?
Pitfalls and things to be careful of?

Is this a good place to make a start in carpet cleaning for myself, I have done lots as an employee in the past LM and HWE and am looking to get some work on my own.

Test the carpet and watch out for Belgian Wiltons. I find hot powerburst does the ticket, good dwell and agitation. Rinse with acidic rinse to stabilise if it's wool, hot water helps. Pubs are no better or worse than anything else but I would agree a final price, and terms. Pubs etc I normally insist on payment on completion or pop back in the morning if I do them overnight. As to whether it's a good time, given your experience and the knowledge of the market place you're working in you may be the best judge. If you're starting cold it would be hard work with marketing and finding work but if you have contacts it might be easier. If you're planning on starting your own business you'll be in competition with your old boss, If you're doing it on the side your employer may not be too chuffed, if that's the case would you get your own gear?

I would target domestics first as these jobs are the bread and butter of any carpet cleaner, commercials are good if you can get the good payers, but most dont want to pay due to tight budgets and running costs

Hi,
Am slowly building up all my own gear, just saving for a van now. And dont currently work in this field so wont annoy current boss.
Have heard a lot about powerburst but never used it, sounds really good.

Just thought as a sideline to begin with hopefully leading to more.

Powerburst is available from any Prochem supplier find a local one to you or Vicol are really competitive.

We sell craftex enzyme pre spraya  swell as powerburst both very good.
