Title: Dipping my toe into the world of the rotary cleaner
Post by: M.Acorn on March 14, 2011, 06:27:46 pm
Have another booking this week, the place where I hire from say machine is out of use due to faulty power lead, bloke who is fixing it is away on hol,and won't be back in time .
So ordered a recon Victor europa 17inch low rpm, comes with drive board, getting a hard floor brush, and a skirt for it. £346 inc vat and delivery from A3 .
There is little separation between the carpet, and the tiles, just a thin metal rail,so worried about getting the phosphoric aqua mix stuff on it,will get some roll and stroll and cover that with my sheets

Well it was all going to plan,Aqua mix turned up today so have the chemicals.
Arrived home expecting to see my nice new buffer, not here,so gave A3 a ring,oh yeah sorry,it;s still here, will be going out in the morning, with you on Friday.Twits !! Promised me it would be here today,or tomorrow morning at the latest .
So now having to use the one I normally hire, but I have to sign a disclaimer,as there is a nick in the lead. Not happy, they are lucky I didn't buy through e bay,or they would be getting some choice feedback

Well just got back, learned a lesson today, put my new container on the shelf with my other chemicals in the back of the van, little bit shorter than the 5ltr containers i have there, first corner I came to heard a big bang in the back, flipping came off the shelf, smacked into the side door, and the lid came off, luckily it landed right way up,but it splashed the acid all over the door plastic, and step,so managed to wash it off with some pre spray I had made up,but got it on my hands,to say it burned was an understatement.
Stuck it back with a bungee cord round it.
Managed to get a brush with the buffer.
Job took me 2 hours, but there was a lot of faffing around,as it was my first one, took my time made sure everything was covered over, goggles, black rubber gauntlets waterproof trousers the works, had to do the en suite by hand, with a small brush, and did the bathroom by hand,as that was only small, used the machine in the kitchen, and utility, was very happy with results, got it signed off,and was going to give it one last mop, where I had splashed some water from the carpet cleaning, got told not to bother,as it was fine.So the £350 I spent on the machine, was not wasted, should be here tomorrow.
Had to take the plastic tread off the step this eve as the aqua mix had got under it,so I washed it all off, some of the paint has peeled, but in honesty it needed painting again anyway,as it was a bit scuffed..Good day other than that

Hi

I bought a victor rotary off them and would not use them again. When I first enquired about a rotary  I told them that I needed one for bonnet cleaning, so looking at a speed of 200rpm. They sent me a 300rpm and they would not replace it.

Never again
