Just had a call, someone has a blob of putty, 10p piece size, on their carpet and its gone hard.
They have had a carpet cleaner in who could not remove it.
Any one any idea what may help.

I would apply gentle heat and remove.

Gentle heat as per a hair dryer, or moist heat as hot water towel?

Hairdryer IMO

I had this a while ago and was surprised how easy it came out. Wet it and then chip away with your bone spatula. It will break up, just keep chipping away.

Wonder what the other carpet cleaner done to it ??? maybe made it worse.

Hi joe i had a youth club carpets to clean a couple of years ago that had hard putty on the carpet,
i removed it with a steam gun, but got a call back when it dryed as there was oil marks on the carpet
The oil marks i guess was the linseed oil in the putty,
cleaned the spots with citrus gel rinsed and forced dryed with a hair dryer
job done.
So make sure you dry it before you leave to save going back as i did ;D
