Post by: MAX Carpets on March 12, 2011, 12:48:20 pm
Hi Guys

Can anone help? Blazer works fine, then when it gets warm water pressue drops? I have de-scaled (twice) and flushed through. Still the same?

Could it be pump related  (hope not!)

Cheers

Don't think it's your pump if starts off OK.

So is it getting too hot, like spluttering at the wand with air/steam or just a drop in pressure to a lower level. Is your regulator sticking, try some silicon lube. Could be getting too hot, then producing an air lock.

Yes Joe

sounds like your transfer pump is the problem    run the machine get someone to hold the trigger down on the wand and keep an eye on the inside of the header tank see how quickly is filling .   new transfer pump wont set you back much  perhaps 100

how anyone can give advice on the information given is beyond me, the first post says it loses pressure when it gets warm, nothing about the header tank not filling

then you say i manually filled the header tank and it worked, but did you let it get warm as you suggest in your first post?

to give any diagnosis we need more detailed information about what is actually happening.

Sorry Mike. Your right. I dont think temp has anything to do with it. It is the header not filling. BUT! I de-scaled again and it seems to have cleared. Wont know until Monday. So any further advice still appreciated.

Cheers

Justin

mike it was just my opinion to what could be a possible solution to a problem .

and by the way as a mod   dont you think its a little rude to call someone a thick git .

I think Richard was spot on. Getting warm was just a consequence. Seems like the header tank wasn't filling up, hence lack of water/pressure at the main pump.

Richard calling you a thick git was mild considering the first word i tried to use was censored , yes it was a little rude but justified considering you were being a sarcastic wally ( hope 'wally' isn't too rude for you ;) ) but if i offended you I apologies

my point was well justified as max agreed, the symptoms he gave didn't make sense, so for any one to give an informed answer was  going to be hard. he needed to give more details.

did he manually fill the header tank by sticking a hose directly into the H/T, or from the inlet at the front, perhaps the float valve in the H/T is stuck or the inlet filter from the fresh tank is blocked

he mentions descaling the machine, did he put descaler in the H/T and run the descaler in a circle through the machine back into the H/T this could have deposited loads of crap into the H/T that still need to be flushed out, Did he put the descaler in the fresh tank and feed it through the supply pump

does the pressure build up when he lets go of the trigger then go as he pulls the trigger.

there are lot of problems that need to be investigated, without additional information any reply would be a guess..... that is why I made my first post.

Didnt mean to start a war. I filled the H/T with a hose. The float isnt stuck, header not filling?

Whats fills your header tnak is your 12 volt pump drawing from your fresh water tank. Simple to find out if that is working or not. Take the hose off the header tank inlet and switch on, no water likely 12 volt pump is knackered.

Or, better still, test the wiring to the pump to see if you have 12 volts, if not, you have a fuse, switch or wiring issue.

Do you stock these pumps John? If so, how much?

hope you get it sorted max and perhaps my wild un informed guess has helped you get to the bottom of it . thanks for your words of wisdom mike and will take on-board what you have said and thankyou for not being too rude to someone who is just trying to help but i appreciate your apology .

not quite sure from ur posts wether ur tank is filling or not, but from experience i can tell you clean out the header tank, vac it out, sometime some scale can cause a problem in the tank feeding the pump, especially after you've descaled the machine.
secondly run machine till warm then open the vacuum tank and see if it;s dumping water ( it should not be), the dumpvalve on the back of the machine can have a pinhead of scale in it, but can be easily taken apart and cleaned out. if dumping water could also be temperature sensor playing up but probably not.
