What is the usual minimum price property or facility you would consider doing at a 6 monthly interval.
I wouldnt consider taking on a £20 4/5 bedder at 6 months but might consider a £150 mansion.
At what point would you consider a property was worth taking on on a 6 monthly frequency. I ask as last week I had a new potential customer approach me asking me for a price for a property, on the phone because i know the house she ives in I suggested we might consider an 8 weekly frequency. When I got there she had decided she only wanted it done 6 monthly. The price I gave her was £50 for an 8 weekly but for 6 monthly I really wouldnt want to bother, not for something that is basically a glorified farmhouse with a big conservatory. Cant see her wanting to pay (for 6 monthly) more either as she moaned that I had only been there an hour.
But it got me thinking, at what point is 6 monthly accpetable?

whats the point? never do a house on that frequency!
on big commercial i would, would have to be over £500 tho for me ...

i done a £360 Bible college every 6 months till they moved.
i currently do a £10 job every 6 months but its not out of the way.
it could be priced better but im not losing out on it either.
some every 6 month jobs i would not be able to do as the property is situated where they get much dirty, as when you inflate the price appropriatly the customer wont pay as the feel its too much to pay and dont see the extra effort needed.

blimey had a bloke go 3 monthly yesterday thought that was bad but 6 monthly :o
for me if i could get my day rate out of the job for say a few hours work then yes i would do it in all honesty

£10 on a 6 monthly! really is no point at all! £20 a year customer! that makes you something daft like £1.60 a month if you were to divide it over a year

Anything over 3 monthly we would price up as a one-off which is 2x the standard rate.
Just give her your price, if she doesn't like it she doesn't take it and can try and find somebody else to do 6 monthly intervals

I have 6 domestic jobs that I do on a 6 monthly, 1 x £60 ( 1 hour ) 4 x £80 ( 1.5 hours each ) and 1 x £150 ( 2.5 hours )
so over the course of the year by cleaning these I earn £1,060 and for what ? well no more than 20 hours work on jobs that are on my round. why turn that down ?
the work is quality and the customers are always welcoming and the tea flows well

i had a customer who was £5 every 2 weeks he went monthly kept price the same then he said can you come every 2 months i said yes £7 ill let you know he said,well he can do one coz i wornt be doing them, im to busy cleaning my regulars ;D

can't see the problem myself, he earned £50 in an hour and wants more for a 6 month interval :o job is a job and £50 is good money

Just picked up a block of flats for £540 every 6 months. Gutted it's only twice a year, but it only took me 5 hrs to clean them the first time wfp and they havnt been done for 2 years!

Also if the job is crappy, owner obnoxious, hard to reach, far from home, over a ferry trip, up a mountain, etc, etc, if the price is right, the job's worth doing.
Someone on here said there's no such thing as a bad job, just a wrongly priced one.

We have a minimum price of £10, be it a 2-bed terrace or a small 3-bed semi.
Bearing in mind there will be 6 months of c**p to clean off, it will take a bit longer.
If I were asked to do a '£10' job every 6 months I would be inclined to ask 3x (£30) - it would still only take about half an hour to clean, no matter how filthy, so well above average hourly rate. The 'aggro' factor is another question: would I want to be bothered with a job that only happened every six months, along with the hassle of scheduling it in, etc? The high price would deter all but the most determined customer, so it would either weed out the 'one off and cancel' type or become a good if infrequent earner.

But if the property is 6 monthly and the majority of the rest of your round is 6 weekly/8 weekly and you have a full round, over-flowing even, and you earn damn good money from that work is it still worth taking on something, which isn't overly large in a financial sense, which requires re-scheduling of your existing work, isn't inline with your company profile, is it still worth taking on?
Im dubious as to whether it would be, afterall, instead of rescheduling your existing round (which is lucrative) and just carrying on as if this 6 monthly property weren't there what have you lost? Nothing.

I did a one off the other day. Took 30 minutes and charged £30. If they booked me again in 6 months time I'd do it. I'm not full, but even if I was I'd make a space available when I was nearby. I don't see the problem.

It does make me laugh when people are prepared to turn down a potentially great hourly rate opportunity. Just because the customer wants a 6 monthly clean instead of what most cleaners consider to be a reasonable time period between cleans. They would rather walk than price it to suit them.
Charge at least double your going rate for a job of its size and you can't lose. Even for those with the packed rounds it's well worth doing if you're going to double your normal hourly rate.
I have a handful of jobs out in the sticks where I murder my normal hourly rate because some are 4 monthly and the rest are 2 monthly.
Never turn a job away based on frequency.

In view of her comments, and i'm guessing it hasn't been cleaned in a few years, she won't keep you anyway.
On that basis i wouldn't hold my breath.

Because Steve you turn up six months later and she claims to know nothing about you, she never made any such arrangement, and besides she is going away for a month.If you contact her again just before christmass they may need doing then.

Ah, but I wouldn't just turn up. I would text the day before. If she wanted to cancel she could & it's bye bye from me. If I turned up & got sent away I would indeed be ped off.

for those with full schedules why not take some one on or find a good subbie to do these jobs.
at 2 and 3 times normal rates you could pay them top money and still make great money for yourself for five minutes on the phone.
i have a factory its every other year!!! but they get me in when they cant see daylight anymore. its great because they arent going to come properly clean,they arent expecting it to. they just want the thick off to see again. it rinses straight off. one of my best hourly rates, because i charge a fortune for it but they arent bothered because its only once in awhile. and they arent going to complain becuse the improvement is dramatic.
i wish i had 500 jobs like them, just trip round in a two year cycle one a day. would be minted and stress free.
i think ians figure of 3 times is spot on allows for any disruption and travelling plus dig out time.

what would yo do if all your customers wanted it cleaned every 6 months ,you let one do it ,word gets round then they all want cleaning every 6 months,what you do for the other 5 months ???

I assume she could be a messer because initially she agreed to 8 weekly then went to 26 weekly, that is more messer than agreeable IMO.
