Title: 3 month cleans .... why did I say yes ?
Post by: Ian101 on March 11, 2011, 04:21:30 pm
Was doing a customers house a few months back and says next door needs a windie so off i goes to see them and they only wanted them doing every 3 months so made a decision to quote a little higher than i would for a 8 week clean £14 average detached house.

Goes to the origianal customers this morning for his 8 weekly clean and he then says i want them doing every 3 months same as next door  not for a tenner i tell him .... got him up to £12 for a small 3 bed house which is too low i know but trying to be positive £26 for about 45 mins work so not too bad i guess.

NEVER going to agree to a 3 month clean again as thin end of wedge ... luckily only have these 2 on the close so no more spread of 3 month cleans

i only take on 4 weekly/8 weekly on small/medium domestics.i have got a church that i clean every 6 months but its a fairly big job(2 hours work).also i have some commercial on 6 weeks.

most of my customers are happy with 4 weekly but then again a lot of them are pretty cheap prices but very very compact!!

only a few 8 weeklies dotted about here and there on these estates.

new custies in other areas are taken on 8 weekly at a higher price.if it was a big stand alone account i would consider 12 weekly but not on ordinary run of the mill domestics.

I personally wouldnt take on 12 weekly work as most of the time they wouldnt get done for 15 weeks, but keep them till youve got enough work but instead of dropping them give them the option of 8 weekly and if they dont agree tell them you can no longer clean...

ive a few 3monthers, but luckily theyre not near enough others for the 3month plague to spread !

i picked them up in the early desperate days, maybe you did too Ian .  They sensed i was a novice and thats why they tried it on  .ive been jacking their prices up of late .

Whats wrong with 3 month jobs? The money they pay you looks just the same once its in your pocket. Or would you rather be sitting at home watching Jeremy Kyle?

Whatever the customer wants thats what I set them up as on George. Each week I print out a list of who is due for the coming week. Most of them I neither know nor care what their frequency is. Thats the list, go and do it

I agree, whats wrong with 3 months? Still dosh aint it, just one month youll earn a little bit more on your round. Ive got quite a few 3'ers and even a few 6'ers.

They all get charged accordingly so i cant see the problem? Theyre better than the one off cleans as you know you can go back.

posted this on the "other" forum to get somemore input and one lad has an interesting method (ok its not rocket science) he does wither 6 or 12 weekly and charges more for the 12 weekly which he says takes no more time to do but his daily income is a lot higher ...... so got me thinking ... 80% of my round is 4 weekly rest being 8 weekly and 2 being 12 weekly ... im about 40 houses away from being full when this happens had a thought to offer the 4 weekly customers an 8 weekly visit but at a higher charge obviously !!) phase it in over a period of several months so will be earning more per day and then fill gaps with new work.

If u was charging £10 for 4 weekly what would you charge on a 8 weekly visit ?

Feel a poll coming on  :D

i never snub customers that dont have very frequent cleans as these customers do bring extra a benifit for me.

if you have free time in your round you can turn up slightly early with out them noticeing that your early (no more than 5 days tho)fills the gaps and keeps your earning even.

I took on a new 3 monthly yesterday its £15 every 3 months. I already have monthly work in her street so missing her two months out of 3 isn't a problem. £60 A YEAR is ok for me.

mate you have to be bold on these cleans. for that i would have charged a builders clean price £30. if they dont take then get more custies to replace.

i was thinking of doing the same when im bursting at the seams, going ask custys if they want to swap from monthly to bi-monthly and add 50 % to price if they think the 50% extra is to much to pay they stay on monthly simples, some will go for it as they aint to bothered in having windows cleaned monthly anyway
