Title: wand handle lose..
Post by: steven Banks on March 10, 2011, 09:26:51 pm
Hi,

I have tightened my wand handle as tight as it will go yet it still has excessive movement. This greatly annoys me, is there anything i can do to stop the handle from sliding about? (apart from scrap it)

Kind Regards  :)
Steve.

If it's pulled together by screws then add a washer or 2 in the middle.

Yes - a real pain.  You could also pack the fixing with a rubber strip.

Thanks for the reply, it's a nut & bolt on either side. I may have to buy a new handle off ebay if i cant fix it. It just's slides up and down the wand which makes cleaning carpets a challenge.

Steven, it may be the bolt heads have pulled into he plastic. If so just undo them and put a couple of washers on the bolt before tightening back up. Failing that just as has been said use a strip of rubber or some other material place it round the wand where you want the handle and re-tighten the bolts. Easy fix.

Steve.

Take handle off, place some rubber bands around the wand and then replace handle over rubber bands.
