morning all,do any of you trad guys just do bottoms when it,s windy.it,s blowing a gale here just wondred if it was worth a try.half price of course....cheers

iv finished for the week now but been out in wind yesterday and this morning bad at times but if it gets realy bad i just go home,i personally wouldnt do just the ground floor work

I got all my work done yesterday,wouldnt like to be out today.
Wouldnt bother doing half the house,ive done that working for someone before and we had nowt but complaints,just catch up another day.

Go out in all weathers and if its blowing a gale in the morning i just take someone with me to hold the ladders or I make them go up  ;) while I hold.

as stan says or jam ladders under sill they cant go any where then as long as you hold on to the ladder it dont matter how windy it is

Don't work in high winds like we have here today and forecast for Friday too. Do other work or paper work or other admin stuff.

when i leave my ladder  i clip it to something near. i got this great idea from MYWAGGA , on youtube . he has a bungee cord and croc clip at top of his ladder

 i used it today and knew no chance of wind blowing ladder down .

I can jam the ladder under the sills on many of my jobs, so wind is rarely an issue.

The only problems I have when it is windy is with my 3 storey houses, so these are left until it is safer to do them.

I used to pull it up after me and lay it down on the roof.  Not ideal but it works.  Another thing I used to do when using ladders when I was on a flat roof was to lean the ladder into the main house angle and into the wind.  That one is not always possible of course so I suppose what you do is a good idea for some situations.
