At the moment i can do my work in 4 days a week, round is done over 5 weeks with about 10 exceptions,
with my round growing all the time im wondering how you guys manage to not get behind with work if your working 5 or 6 days a week, dont no what to do in the future when it outgrows me as dont realy want to employ anyone
-
Just wondered if you are making enough money out of the 4 days?
I work about 2 days a week & it's building at around 2-5 new customers a week plus add on's.
I am aiming to work 4 days a week & earn enough for my needs.
-
mon-fri sometimes sat >:(
still takes at least 6week to complete even though its monthly..
people prefer it though, saves em a bit a cash ;D
-
I work 4 and a half.
I've got enough work to do 6 or 7 days a week, but why sweat?
Who cares if you're always a few days behind? Customers don't that's for sure.
Never EVER lost one from being a bit longer.
-
The business works seven days a week; night clubs and pubs are open all over the weekend and so must be cleaned.
Personally I try to get as many Sundays off as possible to spend with the family or to fish.

i earn enough for my needs on 4 days, more than any job iv had anyway, but i like having fri, sat, sunday off if i can but wont turn any new jobs down that are in my area so will have to start working friday at some point in the future
squeaky/dave,
i personally dont like the idea of being a few days/week behind,i no the custys wont be bothered as it saves them money, most of mine would be happy if i was always late aswell, but they will get used to you being every 5/6/7 weeks what ever it is but what happens if you take someone on or rent work out and it goes back to 4 weekly they wouldnt be happy, plus you arnt using the round to its full earning potential, thats just my thought on it tho
-

Well of course I'd earn more money if I did more days. ???
You'd earn more if you did longer hours.
But why ruin your life with work? I can live comfortably off four and a half days, so why work on rest days?
Weekdays for work. Weekends for me. That's the way it's always been, and always will be.
-
I work 2 days a week and my eastern european workers do 12 hour shifts 7 days a week
dont know what I'm gonna do when I get my 1000th custy prob have to do half day on wednesdays as well ;D

im not saying your doing owt wrong,or you should work more days a week or more hours a day
you obviously have more work than you can cope with on your own, thats why on my original post i asked what do you guys do?as i dont want my round to be behind at all if possible when it gets to much for me,
so what would you do in say 2 years time when your round is even bigger just spread it over a longer period?so your monthly becomes 6 weekly etc
-
some 6 some 1
depends on whats due and how motivated i am
Probably average at moment
But i have help a few days which bungs the money up a fair bit so i always earn as much as i would alone or more than that so it makes me a little lazy :)
Trying to get back into full time mindset though
-
least if your a week or 2 late you dont get the "that time already" comment.
-
Went to a house yesterday 4 months late , expected to get the marching orders but instead walked away with a full pvc clean , con roof , patio furniture , patio , drive way and window clean on the next visit !
Last time i hit them for £150 for pvc and con roof only , me thinks im gonna get a few days off in the week in question next month , oh the hardship of being so damn good ;D

I work 5 full days and half a day on saturday and every evening for max of 2 hours admin.
So if you are only working 4 days a week that friday can be when you do you admin and collecting your money in and if you dont like that then go and enjoy your fine fettle down your local ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

On average our window cleaners work a 35 hour week, Mon - Thurs (8-4) 7.5 hrs(domestic and commercial), Fridays (7-12) 5 hrs (weekly commercial). There are always exceptions to this, sometimes commercial work needs to be done at weekends.
However if possible I very rarely have them work at weekends, though we did in Jan to catch up after the snow and holidays over Christmas.
In general I agree with Squeaky, weekdays for work, weekend for home life (where possible)
If you are getting to the point where your window cleaning is causing you to work at weekends, or you are taking 5-6 weeks to do a 4 week rota, then you need to look at taking someone on to help out.

I run a 8 weekly round and work around 4 days a week for 5,5 weeks....this allows for bad weather, sickness, van probs, etc, etc.
As we all know it's all about pricing and a million and 1 other things.
For me I am now-where what you could call full but it still pays fulltime money for part-time work..it's the best of both for me.
Cheers
Dave.

I have quite a lot of Saturday only customers who are out all week and I can only get access at the weekend. So I usually work Saturdays most weeks.
Similarly I have a few customers who live in roads that are no parking Mon - Sat so have to be done on a Sunday. You can't take a chance and do them in the week because the camera vans are merciless round here.
Did you know the top earning traffic warden in London earned over £58,000 last year? Average around £30-40K, for years they denied they were on commission but now they have come out and admitted it.
-
Occasionally I might do a 3 day week if I've caught up. Other weeks I might work all 7 (some jobs can only be done at the weekends). It really does depend how busy I am and how motivated I feel.
-
I finish on friday at approx 0830hrs after ive done my commercial work. Then start back up Monday. Try to finish early on weds as I have to train our youth footie

depends really.some weeks i work 6 days and "binge"on work to get through it all.other weeks like this week ive caught up with only one more day due but ill leave them until next week as the weathers pretty rough with strong winds this week.
i can pay all my bills etc with just the 2 days work ive done this week. ;)
mot monday then ill go on another orgy of cleaning for a good few weeks!
-
Its not that bad daz
Just admit your being lazy like me !
Im on a 2 day week this week :) 6 days next week :(
-
There are plenty of busy fools around
-

That's what I'd like to do sometime, as these days monthly is often for a lot of people. Nearly all new jobs go 8 weekly.
6 is a good compromise.
-
mon to fri window cleaning, conservatories, soffits etc saturday's.
mon to fri 10am start 4pm finish. its enough for me
-
i work four days a week, run 5 weeks work then have a week off in total 6 week run, got to get my fishing in, three hols a year an three fishing trips to France, but its not always like this, when i first started i was shiner in the day and thursday, Friday and Saturday on the doors, but those days are behind me,
-
me and the mrs work about 7 days out of 28 days
-
Three and a half.
-
I work 28 hours a day,
8 days a week,
I get up 4 hours before I go to me bed,
All for 2 'n 6 a year!
-
Well when we were kids we used to live in a whole in a road, we'd get up before we went to bed, and when we got home from 't mill our dad would slice us in half with a bread knife
