Current sprayer around 2 months old, however age is not relevant, took it out the van this morning, and there was a bend in the very thin brass tube, tried to straighten it,but obviously it snapped ,stopped and spent another £23 on one,on the way home, and have cut the old lance down, won't be breaking it now ..
Have quite a collection of sprayers now,got a couple more up the loft, the 3 in the pic I use,but have got quite a few as spares now...

Done the same and broke 2 in the last month or so and the price for new lances is expensive too..
-
Sure is,going to see how I get on with it like that, will just have to make sure I keep windows shut while I pre spray
-
Get the new IK9 sprayers from Restormate with the brass lance
and brass upholstery gun..............unbreakable.

Looks good ^^^
-
i have just bought a hudson after the trigger on my orion sprayer split on a seam. the guy at solo sprayers also sent me a basic spray trigger for £8 .
-
Might be god to buy a or ask for a spare lance mark, thats what am going to do when i get a new one.
-
Never had a problem with the IK9, never broke a lance
or anything apart from new seal in piston.
John
-
Ive got an IK9 that i have had 7 years, new seal in piston and few hoses.
Mark
-
I've had one and a Tango one and none of then last, the best way would be to buy a Stinger from Nick it's costly but it'll last forever.
Shaun
-
Yes Mark one of mine is 3 years old and new piston
and forgot, a new hose as well. I have 2 spare hoses
in the garage now though.

I find that sprayers knack up due to lack of care generally. Never over pressurise them and let the pressure off when you've finished spraying. The forces on the plastic parts when they are under pressure is quite substantial. Also leaving solution in them with solvent content for long periods doesn't help. Its the same with machine pumps. How many people flush through with clean water at the end of the last job. I don't know anyone who ever has.
-
Dropped one of my better ones under pressure,to say it went pop was an understatement.
The rubbish Contico ones, have a habit of popping off the hose, and spraying solution everywhere,as the hoses go all limp, after a bit of use, keep cutting the ends off,so it's tight again, but it does not take long before they go soft again, can't get a jubilee clip round it either, due to the design.
-
I have 2 Hudson's that broke within 6 months. If you pump too much with a hot solution, the plunger flange turns in-side-out. :o
Pay top dollar and you get top quality, surely I don't need to tell carpet cleaners that ;D
-
Looks like we could do some bulk buying with the lance for the ik9s ???
-
Im fancying an electric backpack sprayer soon, hold 20 litres so should save time filling up on the bigger jobs

I find it anoying as none of the parts apear to be interchangable unless you are a skilled fix it kind of person, and can find interlinking bits
-
There was a link on one of the threads on here to an 18 litre electric sprayer.
Joe Hatton said he'd ordered one, anyone know which thread it was?

think it was page 2 of this one John

It was JasonL video thread on rotary
I ordered mine on Monday, asked for Wednesday delivery (today) came yesterday - good job the wife was in.
It needs charging for 24 hours initially, so still on charge, but put a litre water in this morning and giving a continuous wide angle fan spray. Looking promising.
It comes with an instruction sheet in pigeon English, why someone cant write it proper English I dont know.
Various nozzles obviously for weed spraying or whatever. Drawing does not refer to the battery model so looks a bit confusing cause it shows a manual pump handle not anything like sprayers we may be accustomed to.
-
Cheers Hector.
Joe - How does it compare with a pump up?
Is there plenty of pressure?
John
-
John
Difficult to say how much pressure - but I would say about 40/45 psi, but very wide angle. I will give it a go but may try different jet angle.
The pump is very quiet and cuts out when you release trigger.
-
I've got one after reading a few on here use one - i wouldn't be without it to be honest.
The charge last for weeks & i mean weeks - i got mine in October i think & have charged it once - now i'm not using it every day but it can still hold a charge.
I'd have no problem getting another one - i don't use the shoulder straps though - just hold by the handle as any other sprayer
The pump is adjustable aswell
-
I forgot about the pressure adjuster Jon.
Thanks for the reminder.
Will give that a go.
-
Yep, the pressure is adjustable.
I had it set before probably 60%, found that full was too high and the pump does get noisy, so turned it down and now its set probably bit higher then I had initially.
Looking good.
Got a job in Liverpool Friday so give it a test.
In the meantime still sorting office out ready for moving house - what a pain.
Got a variable hydraforce type in line sprayer with spare canister
and
a hard floor wand with brushes. Got it from Ashbys new, probably used it 4 times at the most and on small jobs so like new.
