Title: Red stains
Post by: Paul Simpson on March 08, 2011, 03:31:18 pm
Anyone got any idea what the staining in the picture attached could be?
Picture doesn't do it justice but it is very prominent.

Called in by a letting agent as the tenant left it in a bit of a state in a virtually brand new property, including the red staining as per picture running either side almost the length of the lounge door only ???
Letting agent said the tenant told them it was to do with the door bar and nothing to do with them (but they would wouldn't they  ::))
Explained to them I've no idea if it will come out until I try as I do not know what it is but they've asked for a report to give to the tenant.
Any ideas?

Thanks
Paul

Thanks Mark, now you've said it I'm thinking that's probably what it was, although I can't remember the doors  ???
But think I'll tell them that is the most likely cause.
Thanks again

Hi Guys

It's an odd one as the stains are on both side of the bar and not many doors open both ways!

The dye could have migrated from one side to the other but it would have had to be very wet.

Cheers

Doug

it's odd though as the lowest stain on the left it looks more liked it's drop of something. it's also pretty much the same strength on both sides or the bar,

Just an update - did the job today, the door was white glossed so don't think it was wood stain but it came straight out using Fusion 8 along with quite a few various other stains, no spotters needed - good stuff!
Pic attached

Is it possibly wicking.
Maybe the previous tennant has tried to clean using a Rug Dr working back from the door.
There is a definate run mark on each stain towards the door bar.
Maybe they washed down the door with something.

Maybe some sort of drink was spilt on the door and it ran down ???

Yeah! It looks like a strawberry juice stain.

In the beginning I thought it is a rust stain, but then I read the door is wooden and realized there's no way it is a rust stain. Bu it might be a drink of some kind
