Hi
anyone use a trailer for pressure washing, guttervaccing. I run several vehicles but only one vivaro as the window cleaning workhorse.
we can just about get the full patio cleaning set up in the viv, we do have a 650 wfp tank at the front so we have about 6x4. but its rammed!
also when done the kit is filthy and soaked so i dont really want it in the van.
iam thinking a 6x4 or even 8x4 twin axle braked with cage for security. with a 2 tonne payload
i could then leave it loaded and when a pressure washing job is on just hitch and go no loading up. i could also carry an ibc tank as a bowser, the 13hp needs to run of a resovoir.
i could also as well drop the kit off with one lad and go window cleaning pick him up with trailer at the end of the day.
anyone have a set up like this or knows anything about trailers?
cheers
john

We're in the process of making one for the exact same reason, but we're making it to our spec so it should be good. Heres a few pics in progress

We'll let you know how we get on with it. Its going to be a bit trial and error but thats whats good about having a handy man lad who works with me lol

I have seen a fair few set ups with a large (7m x 2.55m) I guess trailer loaded front and back with caged tanks and a pressure washer bolted down in the centre.
The size of tank or tanks would obviously depend on your payload and I guess you could do the same with one.
The larger set ups tend to fill up when on site via a hydrant, thus negate the need to tow such weights. If intending to tow then you will definitely need a baffled tank / tanks.
http://www.ntta.co.uk/faq/
"You can tow a maximum of 750 Kg with an unbraked trailer but you cannot exceed half the kerb weight of the towing vehicle. You can tow a trailer with a Gross Weight higher than your car’s towing limit as long as you only load it up to that limit. It is illegal to exceed the car’s towing limit".
Out of interest do you use your WFP tank for pressure washing?
I am looking to add a WFP to one of our vans and to make this work would need to use the tank for PW as and when. This means a seperate inlet (with ballcock) and outlet.
Is this what you do and if so how many flushes to decontaminate the tank?

hi
yes we do use wfp but have never used the tank for pressure washing, i did set it up with a two way valve but bought the wrong one so cant turn the other outlet on, going to change it for one that gives me a three quarter outlet for pressure washing.
if i was going graffiti removal i would use pure water to rinse, get a better rinse i imagine you are only washing chemical away so low pressure not loads of lpm.
for whirlaway or lance work i suppose you could use tap water in the tank. i have no idea what the tds would be for the next fill of pure water. i suppose it depends on the tds of your tap water for a start. als how much tap water you could get rid of after use, it is doubtful you could drain the tank completely.
i suppose assuming a tds in the 3-400 range and if you could get rid of all the water. a full tank of 0 water should give you tds in 30-50 range(pure guess) which you could DI out.
iam planning to carry an empty tank in the trailer and fill at custies house as much as possible.
cheers
