Title: Steammate/hotbox/magma users
Post by: oliver collins on March 04, 2011, 09:28:12 pm
Hi Guys

I was thinking about investing in a steam mate hotbox or magma inline heaters, but i was wondering the best way to use them, what carpet types are they best to use on, ie wool or synthetic carpets fibres, and do you need to purchase special solution hose to cope with the heat

A lot of questions but i love to learn so any useful advice would be welcome.

Your solution hose should be fine, what machine / psi are you running at?

Is there a triple vac Ninja?

Anyway I use a steam mate with the triple vac scorpion. It costs alot new but I bought used and paid about a quarter of the asking price.
Works well although there is a knack to using them and getting the heat when required, might take a few uses before working it out but I fill with luke warm water and very good heat is acheived, even filled with cold water recently and got heat straight away.

Oliver

I've got a triple vac 400psi Ninja.

I bought mine new with the built-in steammate. So I have a tank heater and an in-line heater. Your solution hase needs to be sheethed to protect you against heat and also to ensure you don't melt any synthetic carpets.

They work on any/all common carpets.

Hi

I did thik about getting a steam mate built into the machine to save lugging around yet another peice of gear  plus its cheaper about £400 plus fitting insted of £500 plus for a stand alone unit ,with the built in steam mate, but dont you need to have the valve open full all the time working at 400psi so you dont knacker the pump

So you would you reccomend the upgraded solultion hose and conectors

Regards Oliver

Must say i have seen rogers set up in action and with the all built in stuff saves draging the extra bits around.
