Post by: Griffus on March 04, 2011, 08:21:46 pm
Need to buy a new stair tool for use with an Altec Advance 600.

Any recommendations?

Ian, what do you currently use?

I cant seem to get a grips with the short wands aparantly designed for stair treads. I feel its too clumbsy and clunky.
At the moment i'm using a prochem "easy grip" stair/upholstery tool and i feel it does a great job, getting in to all the nooks and grannies as well as the curve of the step. Any hand tool with an internal jet will also do a good job.

I was the same. Took a while to get used to, but love it now. I found taking off the short tail and replacing with 18inch blue pressure hose helped. I use one as illistrated but as mentioned, I have changed the tail hose

I tend to use my clear hand tool or sometimes use my CFR tool. Either of these do a good job but I'd like to save a bit of time and effort, especially on three storey's.

The one thing that tends to put me off a dedicated stair tool is that they just look too big for a standard domestic stairwell, especially when I think of using it on the risers.

One more thing; it's almost year end so now's the time to spend!!!
