what would you do ? the old windy had a stroke and now im being asked to take his work on .
do you do it until he returns ?
or do you do it full time ?

Well, it is a moral issue, I suppose. Do you know the guy, if so , If you have time, then I would do his work until he is well again, then have a chat with him afterwards. IMHO

whos asked you do the work his custards or him/family friend

Someone not so conscientious as you may come along and get the work instead, so the guy who had a stroke will have lost it, so take it, then if the WC who had the stroke does get back into WC'ing then you can talk to him and offer it back, after a stroke it could take along time to get back in to work, if he ever does.

I had a similar situation. Last May a local cleaner fell off his ladders and broke his legs (he won't work again), i done two jobs in the middle of his round. When i picked up a lot more customers quickly and heard about his fall i went to see him. He didn't want to know. Told me to stay off his round. I said fine, but i'm keeping the jobs i've got now. And that was that. Since then, he's had lads do his round who have ripped him off, not got it all done and last one robbed all his ladders and stuff too !!! Some lads now are doing 'some' of it for him . Some customers have not been cleaned since last summer. Worst thing i done was to go and see him as far as i'm concerned as now i've acknowledged its his work. That may change, anyhow. Going to see them is fine if they are ok, but if they are unreasonable if leaves you nowhere. I'd never do it again. I get asked and i go, don't ask questions, they only lead to answers.

local windie was off for a good while and a few of his customers asked me ,i did them for 6 months on the understanding as soon as he came back they returned to him, the only problem was the price i did them slightly higher which they were ok with, i have since talked to the windy he was ok about it,told him about the price which surprised him as when he returned they paid him the old price,i told him to put it up
Thats what you call good loyal customers Stan, they remembered the price !!!!
