Hi SB - yes the gutter vac are extremly good - they will pull out anything thats in the gutter - inc solid clods of
grass and will clear the down pipe to the swan neck.
we use Omnivac - but other say the polar vac is good as well

in my opinion .they are not as easy to use as i was hoping. and it takes a long time to do a job .its not like washing windows .much miore to it .

hello purchased mine december have a omnipole but a purchased a numatic vac its ok but its hard work and there will be times when you will have to get up the ladder what improved mine was a camera you are going to need one you just cant see up there
when you get to thurty six feet and above you will need help to hold it up 8)

they certainly dont pull out anything in the gutter Had ajob the other week the vac was useless. 2 foot high plants with proper branches. Vacs are ok for moss and leaves but the ladders still come out for major blockages. I do 3or 4 gutter jobs a week.

Sorry guys but i'm going to disagree with you - we've been gutter vacing for 18 months and NEVER needed a ladder
with practice jobs become quicker ( standard size semi front and back is 30 mins from arrival to packing up ) and we rarely use the camera as you know the gutters empty by feel.
below is a 3 storey gutter - cleared by the vac - happy vacing guys !!

as i said a vac WILL not remove a 2foot solid wood branched plant from a gutter believe me. Yea moss and grass and leaves like in your pics no problem. Have you done any warehouse units with box gutters? These are a different ball game.
-
Yep - and no problem mate - the picture is compacted seagull nests so a plant is no problem
time to work on your technique

nothing to do with tech a vac will not take down a embedded wooden branched bramble TREE with deep roots we all know that my friend. As for your nest easy pickings you havent come across any of these harder blockages yet.

but the answer to the original question by sb yes they have their uses certainly but dont expect miracles

I have the Omnivac which is really good on most gutters but yes have to fully agree with you thay it wont lift out what you mentioned, I know cos Ive tried and found it far more easy to go up the ladders and haul it out and yes you really have to wrestle some of it out.

NO! - thats the swimming pool!
Tatman - thats correct, the OP wanted to know if gutter vacs are any good - simple answer is yes. thats not
to say that you can simply whip along and clear everything, and yes we have taken out plants, bushes etc, they take some effort and on commercial we use a two man team - but so far we have always cleared from the ground.
