Hi guys,
I've set my Scorpion up as a Van mount with tanks but if I need to get closer to jobs then I use my Advance machine, both options outside of the property. With some jobs, where the Carpet is far from the main machine, I would carry in my small Aqua 40 but since an operation this is difficult.
Now I find myself with 75-100ft of pipe to reach jobs and sheeting up to protect floor/carpet is a pain. Any ideas to do this quickly or with any other products/methods please, pictures if possible.
Regards Rob
P.s Do most of you have a second Washing machine for Carpet Cleaning laundry?

How do you find your scorpion? Thinking about getting one. Have you got a built in heater?
-
Hi Charles, Scorpion is great just use cool water rinse. If I need hot water just use the Advance or put drop hose from Scorpion into Aqua 40 tank and heat that up.

P.s May get Heat box for Scorpion.http://www.amtechuk.co.uk/shop/3_KW_Inline_Heat_Exchanger-pid-181.html

Robert,
I have one of those inline heaters, i don't think it's great! the magma inline heater from cleansmart is getting good reviews!

rob there is no quick & easy way you just have to lay them out. I have a policy that unless we are cleaning it we don't stand on it so most jobs we are putting down dust sheets.
we use the 3ft x 20ft corridor dustsheets and if we are going up stairs we wrap them around the banister so we don't rub the paintwork ( pic attd')
used to go to the launderette to wash my bonnets because i used a cocktail of chemicals to get them clean and didn't want to abuse my washing machine, but now just use the home machine

That's impressive Mike, in all these years never thought of that, seen it or heard it.
As much as I'd like to be that pedantic its not in my nature so my theory is if I do bring any mud into the house from my hoses then I have the means with me to deal with it quickly anyway. Goes without saying I earn a lot less than you per hour!
-
Gary, mud isn't a problem its when you drag the hoses across the drive and pick up some oil from their leaky car... you only do this once then the dust sheets always come out.
but I have a helper and I have him trained, the first thing he does on getting to the job is get out the dust sheets.
-
Thanks Mike, great idea/picture will get my new helper/Son onto it.

P.s, Cheers Billy, looks a good Heater.
-
Mike,
Where do you get your corridor dustsheets from ? - they look like something I could use.
cheers,
Pete

I use an old bit of carpet as a runner, approx. 2.5x12ft if the property has hard floors in the hallway or not doing the hall, easy and quick to unroll/roll to pack away.
-
Pete any builder merchants will sell them, we buy a multi pack which has...
1 x 3ftx24ft,
2 x 16ftx14ft
for £18
-
Many thanks Mike - I'll check my local builders merchants out. Pete

Here's a great supplier and great prices. I use them loads and never a problem. The laminated ones are thin but great for keeping areas dry as well as clean. Staircase ones great for halls etc. as well as stairs.

Like those dust sheets too that mike uses, might get some to use rather than old bed sheets that i sometimes use and a bit more robust by the looks of it.
-
do you not keep a clean hose just for inside the house, that you don`t let near mucky drives. Just unhook a bundgy and carry indoors.
-
Gary to be truthful i like to keep everything on the hose reel which i pull off into the house, with 2 of us it doesn't really drag along the floor. the problem is as we back out of the house my helper pulls it out of the front door and it can pick up a bit of dirt
but I've got to say, on some jobs it does get dragged across the lawn :-\

Is it true Shaun sends his drop sheets to the Dry Cleaners with his over-shoes.
