Just finished making my quick release plastic angle adapters, and put them on ebay.

Been using it for a month now - absolutely awesome.
I am knocking out the complete angle adapter at £9.99
I will also be listing just the parts to convert existing gooseneck for £5.00 each.

How easy is it to remove the brush with the top section of the angle adaptor & brush on ?
Say i want to swop over to a different brush ?
-
Exactly the same as a regular plastic adapter.

Probably safer using the saddle one, dont want the wheel coming off lol.
Great idea tho, i like it, i hate the normal winders on the adaptors, mines gone really tight and wrecks your hands to undo it.

I have been useing these for 4yrs now I think I got the idea from Jeff Brimble, very quick to change the angle, much easier than unscrewing the thread that they come with
-
Its a good idea and a very good price 8)
Some people where ahead of the game 5 years ago, thanks Matt.
Here is an old view from the other side.(Click on pic)

JB the unger elbow has a bolt and wing nut to keep it fastened. I am looking for some sort of lever operated quick release, best descrip I can come up with is that its like the fizz keeper that you put in wine bottles. so it would be a bolt with an adjustable canilever to lock the jpints together as I am fed up screwing the unger bolt up and down.
Does anyone follow my drift ?
Matt diyforum - buy a quick realease mech for a mountain bike, you will have p.haps alter the dia of the bolt though
but should work.

Im sorry but i dont see what all the fuss is about , it looks like yet another lame attempt to make money !
Maybe some of you have fallen for it , thought you would know better ?
What is wrong with just not doing the original fixing up so tight ?
Little pressure to move the brush head to the desired position and away you go , ok it does wear the teeth after about 6 months but by this time the narroow part of plastic on the joint is on the way out anyway .
Im putting my latest invention on the mighty EBAY soon , he's a very small ex jockey who sits on top of your pole and does the job trad , safety in mind and what the custy wants ...VFM..... ;D
Come on chaps , dont be sheep !

Dave mills , point me in the right direction mate , what are you saying exactly ?
Rich
-
Hmmmm , peace and more peace , i waited , no reply , all i can think is that maybe dave mills is the seller or friend of , in short guys , what i dont like to see is a bloke takin the P out of poss newbs on a budget looking to set up and sayin , you need this piece of turd , you dont !
The goal has always been to get the lightest pole you can , you go to gardners and get your clx , slx , and then put a heavier item than standard on the top , going backwards me thinks !
Rich

HE SHOOTS .......HE SCORES..........
ANOTHER THREAD WITH NO ENDING ...........YET !
Captain NEWB ;D
-
How much more do you think that quick release handle weighs than the original fixing ........... 10 - 15 - 20 grams, I'm sorry, but if you can't handle that extra weight on the end of your pole, then IMO you're in the wrong job, perhaps you should be sat behind a desk with a lightweight bic biro because a parker pen might be too heavy for you. ::)
-
Here we go then , would you like me to do a video of how to move an angle adapter under low compression ?
Not wasting my time bud , go to your van , turn the original fitting anticlockwise (backward) a little bit .......
WOW it moves ....and to any position required , without the loss of pressure needed to clean a window !!!
O.K.Daniel son !

Sorry Dave , forgot dancin on ice was on !
Are you with us now , or is one born every minute your next prog ?
Sorry mate but im here to help others , as i have been for 5 years or so as i recall , not to give nonsense after 45 posts , and its not my life , its a forum , hey one day you might be in a position to offer help to others .

Sadly, whenever someone comes out w/ a product there is always someone there to complain about them making money. It may seem to them it's an obvious use of existing parts but some don't have the time or even ability to put something like it together. You could grill your own burger and throw cheese on it or you could go to McDonalds and buy a Quarter pounder. Not much difference except someone else put it together for you which can make it taste better sometimes.
-
See your point mr squeegee , but the product in Q is not even of any benefit to anybody , they all have a perfectly usable item between the brush and pole , if we were talking aquadapter then i would pay if it was what i wanted , but the fact is the product is a Q.R. FROM A BIKE !
Hell i might ring FORD in the morning and tell them i have a new way of connecting Radiator Hoses , some how i think i might get told to P. OFF !
In my eyes , if you buy this , your a dead head ...
Probably got a few backs up there , still love ya guys ! ;D

ever tried turning one with gloves on in the middle of a job, it is not so easy, where as a lever would shave a few secs of our time, and who knows, all the gardiner fans may buy one to compliment their poles, , you know the old saying p@f
every sec counts ::)
-
Jouk , you dont have to touch the nut at all , just get it to the tension that you can just move the 2 parts of the angle adapter by hand , its a bit rough to start , but after a few movements its like using a ratchet and socket.
Dont let me down guys , or im gonna blame a conspiracy theory !!!! :o

Don't get the impresion the guy is saying u need one or have to have it!!! I get the feeling he's come up wit a idea it works well for him and yes he's tryin make some money out of it,,,, why wouldn't you???? Or are u a saint that gives money and ideas away?
-
P@F. I am surprised at your negative comments on this idea. Because they don’t make sense!
Your moaning that this guy is making money from us by giving us an idea that works and saves time...
Its made from a stronger product than the original so is therefore transferrable to many poles for years to come. I see that as good value for money.
You say you think this idea is taking advantage of newbies and is going to cost them money, well I think with that in mind your idea sucks and is going to cost the newbies a lot more in the long run, You say yourself that by using your method the part wears out every 6 months. So it needs to be replaced? How much does that cost?
-
excuse me if I talk out of turn but how is what this guy is doing any different to buying a load of training golf balls in bulk and drilling a hole in them and selling them as a hose accessory to water fed pole users?
No difference and nothing wrong with it, you make your choice and you pay your money.
I think its a good idea by the way, I went to my local bike shop this morning and have converted two of my angle adapters for £6 ;)
I think as a result I will be more likely to adjust the angle to suit the job instead of just being lazy and not bothering.
-
Buy it or don't simple
I'll pay my money rather than fart about trying to do it myself (hopeless DIY case me), excellent idea here's to more of these types of people who make the job that wee bit easier, I don't grudge the fee.
;)
-
Thanks for your comments guys.
I know it's not everyone's cup of tea - but I honestly found it helped.
I did start of with a bike quick release - but have also made several modifications which does make it a bit easier.
Soon I will have quite a few more options to go with it - watch this space! ;D
