Title: Sub contract work?
Post by: Kwackers on February 24, 2011, 08:29:58 pm
What's the best way to get sub contract work? Is it a case of getting on the phone and ringing cleaners and getting on the books? Back in business with a friend that I just sold an E-commerce business after a year or so out :)

Thanks Mark. Will drop an Ad on there. Did you put yourself as a standard WC or did you specify that you want sub work?

Thanks

apparently you can't put a free advert on yell.com  anymore.that's what they told me last time they rang me.but when i had it i got a very good contract from it so it might even worth paying for the cheapest one

Really? I had an ad on there before when I did WC and got a few good calls from it. Nothing too special though!

When Yell said I wouldn't be in the window cleaning section any more, I told them to remove me from their directory (even the free bit) and never phone me again.  Nearly every call I get from being listed in there is a telesales call or someone price fishing.
I'm much happier doing the targetting with leaflets or canvassing.
Yell have only ever allowed freebies because it gives them a database of numbers to phone.
If everybody did what I did, they would soon change their minds as they would have no database of numbers to expand their paid for sections.
Anyone who tries to make such a threat to me as part of their sales pitch can go forth and multiply.

Good point...not sure it will catch on though!
