Yes why I replied my last w/c used to do my windows with a backpack on a sack truck, when he left my windows had streaks & spots all over them can you clean them the old way. yes I replied but let me do your front windows w.f.p and the back windows traditional o.k she replied I have a van system use 4l.p.m on varistream windows came up perfect she was well pleased. she ask me why the other w/c did not get the same results I think he may have not been using enough water to rinse the glass I replied. Recently getting more new customers with same complants about previous
w/c's using w.f.p but some refuse to let me prove to them that w.f.p does clean the glass better than trad

It's good when that happens isn't it!!!!
We had an old dear say to us that she's had " a bad experience" with WFP but let us clean her windows anyway. She was well pleased and as a result we now clean windows for half her family. ;D
-
My stock answer for these people is that all window cleaners are using poles these days, or soon will be and they are welcome to continue the search for a trad windie.
I then explain that there are good and bad wfp boys, in the same way there have always been good and bad windies.
After that it is the "why not have a try this time, and see how you feel" speech.
That usually does the trick.
Make sure the first clean is spot on, and bobs your uncle.

MLS , Your own mum dont count mate !
After you left she rang me to get them done properly ;D ;D ;D ;D

I'd like to know how you guys get on with the seal, I hear lots of people moaning about my local guy that uses WFP, dirty seals is the biggest moan.
I'm certainly not against progression in any way and it must be very annoying when someone that don't know what they are doing gives you a bad name.

I had one the other day, oh please dont tell me you are cleaning them with that hose thing! Bless her

Im a trad cleaner but been wfp and changed back again because of poor results.
I used a brodex 250DI system but bought the cheapest equipment without doing much research. If i do changed again to wfp i will be buying a RO system with microbore reel and poles fitted with FANJETS.
A cleaner i know showed me his system fitted with fanjets and the results were instant, the rinsing was far easier then with pencil jets, less water used and better water coverage on the window. The results were great.
How many wfp cleaners prefare/use fanjets over pencil jets?

sorry danny, you have got it all wrong mate!!
You cud use the cheapest equipment available and still do a perfect job mate IF your water is pure and you know what you are doing.
Give it another go mate!!
-
Im really considering it.
My mates system with fanjets and microbore hose was well better and practical than mine. I like tradding but i think wfp is the way forward for the business

go for it danny!!
you just have to give it time mate!!ive been using wfp practically day in/day out for 10 months now and im speeding up and results are great!
once the windows and frames have been cleaned with wfp 6 or 7 times its a doddle and so much quicker.then you start to get a feel for certain types of windows and avoid problems like dripping seals etc.
my advice would be to get a light pole from the start.a clx 22footer is a good bargain pole for lots of domestics and a great closed length for ground floors.
as long as your water is 000 and you rinse well you should have minimal problems.i use pencil jets.

VSP what seal are they complaining about? i coulldnt clean a window without cleaning the seal around the glass!
Danny give it another go! this job is all about numbers and you will definately do more work per day WFP, see if you can go out with your mate for a few days.

The bottom seal/frame from what I gather, not the window surround.

We're looking at WFP as an option on a new commercial contract that we have, rather than subbing out.
Visited a supplier on Monday to discuss potential requirements. The main points picked on were: -
1) Trailer systems are no good. This supplier did one and was honest enough to say that they'd prefer not to do another. The problem being the lack of suspension on the trailer leads to the system vibrating apart!!!
2) Results - Whilst there I spoke to a window cleaner who made the switch last year. Really nice and helpful guy. He said that the results were not as good, nor would ever be as good when using WFP instead of Trad. The problem for him was the frames, especially on old properties (most of his round being 40 years + old). The supplier was party to this discussion and didn't disagree, infact he nodded.
Looking for honest opinions from anyone and everyone with WFP experience, especially trailer owners and those that have had difficulties making the transition and have either reverted or persevered and succeeded.

Wfp is just another window cleaning tool to add to your existing tools.
It works on most windows but not all, use it where you can.
It's at least 30% quicker and allows you to do jobs you wouldn't even dream of doing with a ladder.
It can be used to clean anything and everything from conservatorys to signs to sides of metal cladded buildings.
Best of all it make you LOADS OF MONEY ;D ;D ;D
O and it's safer as well :)
-
only windows its no good on is old wood and alliminuim, its a good job 95% are pvc ;D
-
use trad as a back up Incas I get non compliant window, old wood or alloy.
love it when new cousty says proudly " we have aluminum Windows you know" Yea I can see were the lacquer has come off and they are oxidizing.
-
Honestly guys - it doesn't matter whether you have a d.i. or r/o, trolley, backpack or van or have pencil jets or fanjets, whether you run at 1L a minute or 4L a minute. I've used them all. (Except I run at about 1.5L a minute but vary that right down to a dribble on some windows like georgian or poorly painted or perished seals)
You can clean aluminium and wood and sash as well.
If you know what you are doing you will be a top notch and even better windie with wfp.

well said malc :P :P :P :P
are we out riding the weekend ;)

Im really considering it.
I have a round that would be great wfp and would take me a day to clean rather than a day and a few hours.
Im just in the position of wondering which van to buy and which set up. I have roughly £5k to spend plus possibly another £3k so im just thinking whether to buy a large van and system or whether to buy smaller van and system then upgrade later on when i need a larger system.
Im also thinking about buying a DI system and having an RO holding tank in the garden that way the van can be used and filled up pretty quickly rather than leaving it for 6-8 hours to fill up
Regards
Danny

Im just in the process of setting up WFP backpack, ive bought a secondhand Shurflo backpack and a CLX 22 pole it's just the water filter gear i need now.
I work trade with my partner she does the downstairs and i do the upstairs but i have some jobs that i just cant get to some windows and some that i can butt they are quite hard to reach, but i reckon these customers are going to be well happy when i can get to these windows, and they are good ones to practice on.
