Thanks for the replies , i will be letting them know about the sanding bit , if they choose not to have it done will it cause problems for them in future ?
I am aware of the sanding aspect and i assume its done once the drive has dried off ?

Also what really should i charge for a job like that , just the washing side ?

Thanks Rich

I would charge £250. The job looks like the driveway is not too bad.

I would also: Put a weedkiller down before sanding. The reason is that spring will soon be upon us and they may get weeds/grass popping up soon.

Weedkiller and resanding will reduce this and make the job look better for longer.

For resanding I would use the kiln dried sand (Wickes is good at about £3 a bag). Stiff brush and make sure when resanding the driveway is totally dry otherwise it will take longer and not look as good. The resanding really does finish the job off well and defines all the brickwork!

Resanding I would charge £75 inc.

Hope this helps

Any block paved drive that has been washed does need to be re-sanded as it forms part of the structure simple as that. With regards what to charge, how big is the drive.

I would a use a lance for a job like this and spray art 45 degree to the surface my price would be 4-5 quid a metre depending on the dirty is was. I think re sanding is a good extra income if it needs it.

£4 - £5 without sanding :o

Do you get much work at those prices?

Hi Rich,

Would never not re-sand (even if i have to give a discount) as Roger says it is part of the structure ;)Also the weed killer should go down about 2 weeks before the clean (if the weeds are bad) as it is the leaves of the weeds that absorb the killer ;)

Give me a call 07739 535648 if you want. :)

Regards
Alan

 Hi
i think the these prices are a tad low personaly, i would have said 300 or 350 with sanding.

There is a big range in pw some charge a pound a metre. some a lot more.

As every one said before must resand.

Alan has kindly given you his number he gave me some great tips when i expanded into pw. worth talking to him.

 cheers

 john
