Pretty good,mine is around 480ppm  :o
Good luck with the g/f 30ft pole,it weighs a ton!! Try not to use mine too much!

Also it takes a little while for the membranes to settle in so like you said flush for a good couple of hours. For the first few weeks you will wonder if it was worth going wfp, after that you will never look back,it's a very good tool  ;)

Can you take the base sections off the pole when you don't need them? If you can it'll be a lot easier. A 20' pole will do most domestic work.

 :o  That's not water, that's treacle!

Bumper that pole will do you some damage, mate.  If you're skint or just thrifty, have a search on this site for a Harris pole.  B @ Q sell them for £15 and they're very good; they're about 18 foot long and great for banging about on domestic work; and they're easy to convert.

Sorry, Bumper, I don't think I can help you since my RO works a treat, so I've got no experience with your system.

Have you put it together properly?

Hopefully someone will come along with some better advice.

did you buy the system complete or did you add the items to the cart yourself for some reason its cheaper to add the items to the cart seperately than just adding the complete system  ??? ??? don't know why  ???

No it come complete you just add the di to the ro but for some reason the waste valve wornt close and pours water out all time, its a purefreedom trolly 300   GPD Reverse Osmosis System & 10" DI

bumper go to the purefreedom site add to the shopping cart the

trolley, ro, 10" di, tds meter, pole and the drums you got in the complete system and i bet you will find you could have saved nearly a £100  ;)

How the did they work it out about 100 pound cheaper and ro not working ???
Title: Re: Bumper New System
Post by: erithwc on February 22, 2011, 07:13:46 pm
i found out when i was getting my purefreedom trolley system so i added the items to the cart seperately and instead of getting the pole from them i used the money i saved to get a gardiners clx pole   ;D ;D

i don't know why it is cheaper but i didn't mind as i worked it out before i purchased the equipment  ;)

At 120ppm & a trolley system IMO you would have been better of without an RO & just two 11Ltr DI vessels.

Very simple, very fast to fill up, no waste, no hassle & A bag of Tulsion resin would last you about 6 months! ;)

I run a 400ltr van mount with twin DI's, I use 2 bags of resin per year!

Did you ask for an RO? Did PF ask what your tap TDS was?

bumper did you get a booster pump you might have low tap pressure i only had a trickle coming out my 450 gpd so i went to my local marine/tropical fish shop and got a booster pump now i can fill a 25ltr barrel in 50 minutes

i got the booster pump because i can't wait forever as i live in a flat and have no storage tank

Might buy a 11Ltr DI vessels later, do you just connect to water supply and a pipe to your container, and do you get connectors with the di,.

You will get water from the pure and waste pipes while producing water. The ratio is normally 2:1 with the waste water being the greater. when the pure water outlet is closed water will still come from the waste pipe. To resolve this contact varitech or Anchor cleaning supplies for a waste shutoff valve. Your problem will be solved. Regarding the TDS from the RO it may not drop below 002 or 001 as there are many factors that effect water quality, TDS from tap, Water pressure through membranes (ro's do not work very effectively if the water pressure is below 60psi). Poor water pressure can be counteracted by adding an inline tap on the waste water and turning the waste flow down creating more pressure through the membranes and less waste water, but this does need playing with to get the best results. Hope this helps.

Yes you do. Most suppliers DI's come with hozelock male fittings already on BUT just check first.

IMO 300gpd units are very good but are better on a static set-up as they produce pure water slowly.

When producing pure water you should still get aroung 50-60% waste, so you will always have water going down the drain. On flush mode the waste ratio is higher (you still get some pure product water).

If you have any leaks just push the pipe in firmly to the connector as it may just be a bit loose.

You need around 50psi minimum for the RO to work well, but if you want to speed production up you would need to take it higher.

If you shut the waste water off you will raise the tds of the product water and the membranes will wear out more quickly.

You`ve let yourself go, Bumper. What`s happened to you since your last avatar? Is it the stress of wfp?
And turn the water off, there`s a big puddle behind you.

2 hours to fill 1 25L BARREL? :o :o

it take me about 50 mins to fill 10 barrels DI only.

your tds is quite high for just DI only BUT it will be a lot less hassle bumper.

just follow instuctions you got with the trolley regarding calibration.

by the way i also have a 50L FREEDOM TROLLEY.great bit if kit.i have flo rate on 60 most of the time.

get 30m of streamline 5 extension hose(available from pure freedom).saves you moving the trolley as much.

best wishes

To turn water of on pole you need some sort of pole valve. Gardiners do one for about £10 which fits into the pole hose, designed for hose internal diameter 5mm, external 8mm. If you use a thicker pole hose they sell an adapter.

When I use this I just hold the pole hose in my hand along with the pole and find it easy to turn on/off.

There are other options and it really is a personal preference thing.

One other tip Bumper.

You probably don't need to use a DI vessel as your incoming tds is quite low. I use a 300gpd unit. Tds in approx 200, tds from RO is around 003-004. As long as the tds reading is in single figures you should not need to use resin.

My water pressure is around 55psi and I get around 500l per 24 hours on a static system (a bit more in summer and less in winter as production rate is affected by the temperature).

Di Only should be fine. My tds is 57ish Using twin Di vessels my water costs me under a £1 per day.

Sounds like you need a storage tank at home to keep making water all the time, i have 4 X 300 litre water butts all connected together i can then leave the ro running while im working or asleep and not worry about it.
