Title: Non Collecters...............Good Cashflow..?
Post by: dazmond on February 21, 2011, 10:51:30 am
for all you window cleaners who dont collect anymore and rely on cheques and bank transfers.hows your cashflow?

i have big runs  of cheap super compact work and a lot either pay on the day or when i collect(easy when its very compact in one area).

i have a fair bit of stand alone bigger accounts,a few commercial etc that i leave a SAE.some drag their heels a bit with payments sometimes but the cheap compact work gives me a good cashflow and is good "bread and butter" work.

all my work is within an 8 mile area and collecting is usually once a week for about 2 hours.

how do you find bank transfers?do you have to send gentle reminders via texts to get payment at times?most of the customers ive asked are not interested in paying this way yet.

regards

I do collect, but can tell you my experience about internet banking.

I leave a "your windows have been cleaned" slip with bank details on, payment amount and payment due within 7 days.

On the whole this works well as only a handfull require a text reminder.

I've got loads of soldiers as custies. The fact is, with bank transfers, officers wives pay on time with that, other ranks you have to remind, and remind and remind and replace.

I don't collect and at times it can test your nerve, but generally cash flow is pretty good. Customers get 7 days to pay - they seem to get into their own payment routine ie. one pays the next day/another pays after 14 days etc. If they go beyond 3 weeks though my wife phones them and reminds them to cough up! if they still don't pay then I do collect  ;)  commercial stuff seems different again!
