I see loads of threads have been locked - personally i think it's all a bit silly, however it's all
done on the basis of advertising - well what double standards !
i've seen loads of self serving threads for promoting a persons company on here and therefore
all links/sigs/avatars to window cleaning web sites should also be banned/stopped.
forums are about ideas and opinions - only illegal activaties, bad language, and lible should be
delt with by mods - nothing else
rant over.... i thank you - i might see you all tomorrow - depends if i still have an acc............. beeep...!

give it a break if the lad is keen enough he will be making enough from window cleaning in no time, we all started with next to nothing, well most of us.
Dave doesn't make the rules just upholds them, pretty thankless job really.
all I had was one scrim a ladder and some cloths a twenty year old squeegie(still have it)
and folk aren't allowed to advertise but if anyone had any sense they can start a topic recommending some ones services with no repercussions I believe.
So if you know and trust the lad start a topic recommending him ;)
-
I believe there are a number of companies who pretend to be ordinary cleaners on here to promote their products !
I think most on here are intelligent enough to decide who is who, so if a poster is offering his services and claiming to be starting out, then why not let the members decide if he is legit ?

he came from matts forum .i and i sent him over here as someone was looking help with a logo and i had asked him to do mine through the pm ff your a member matts forum read his other posts..hes green and willing to learn ..maybe if other young guys hes age got of there ass and tried to get into some kind work...there wouldnt be all this crap about there being no work for 16-25 year olds.

at 20 I had a rifle in my hand getting blown up by terrorists, he is a full grown up young man, as I said start a post recommending him and I am pretty sure they can't lock that, for example folk start posts all the time recommending poles, brushes etc. They don't get locked, It might be moved though but I am sure he could live with that

It is clear I am legit, I started on Matt's forum asking if waterless window cleaning was a good idea.
No one is clever enough to put this much effort and think of stupid ideas to gain trust in people to start offering services. Maybe if I had a price structure but 'I make, you donate!'???
Also if you read the other topic it clearly states this design to help raise funds happened by chance as someone liked my logo.
Yer I could start with nothing, a cloth, a ladder and a £1 squeegee but I like to do things properly from the word GO!
I have enough to get exactly what I need and ladderless! But I want to start it better, buy printed clothes etc.
I would totally understand if it was a spam post offering services with contact details posting on 100's of forums and no replies but I have posted on 2 and followed up every comment.
I am here to help and be helped, I have tried to give opinions on other topics rather than just be here for me to raise cash and that still gets thrown in my face!
'How can you give advice when you have never cleaned a window?'
Like I said, advice is ones opinion and you do not need experience to give opinions.
Thanks better clean, its really nice that people are going out of there way for me.
Thanks Stu, good advice...

I admire your determination, but you have to play the rules in your favour, and as you have learned you can't come on and advertise directly, but this is not aimed at you, someone can recommend you and explain the background ;)
Dave never deleted your posts only locked them so I think that was very fair of him
-
I agree it was fair of him. Like I said in some other topic I noticed one was deleted and one wasn't, I though that was fair enough.
He also offered some advice on anything I needed WC related which was really nice rather than just moaning about my topic.

stu i grew up with terrorist around me...living in north belfast ...ive had friends murdered and blown up.
sorry to hear that, I am sure you were fully manned up by the time you turned 20 then. And I really don't want to talk about the troubles ;)
but on the subject why don't you start a post that can help the young fella out, You have used his services so can recommend him ;) I can't

STEZ13 you were in the rite place before you can here Mate this is the lions den.The dark side.

What is the difference someone offering there services, to benefit fellow window cleaners. Compared to for example David Morris coming on the forum advertising for window cleaner’s in areas around the country. As in both cases both party’s gain something of value for the business, is it a case a law for one and a law for others?
If you stop one you should everyone.
No offence meant David.

Stu - forever the voice of reason - good comments on working the system to your advantage
just feel the guy needs a chance and wasn't doing any harm

From what I can see the guy looks like a pro web and logo expert, no different than Ian wicks, who also is not allowed to offer his services without permission from admin.
If you think that me offering work is in the same vein as offering services for cash, then I will refrain from offering any more work through this forum.
I am quite sure that the guy now has at least £300 in orders for his web services, so I can now lock all posts relating to his services.
The rules are there to protect us all from Spam and to not upset our advertisers who pay to advertise.
