Hi Joe,
I would not pay £25 per 1,000. Have you ever delivered them yourself? Would you do a FULL, HARD, MIND BOGGLING days work for £25?
Also never go solus, pointless. Imagine when you come home from work. 5 letters, 2 pizza leaflets and a baby sitter leaflet. So pointless paying solo when the homeowner gets loads of crap anyway.
The response would be low, 5,000 leaflets COULD get you 50 quotes, could get you 25, at worsed you would get 10 customers but possible.
Please could you send over your design or what you would write on each one. If its bad I could easily double your response, you need to connect with the reader and make them think that they need a windie even if they would never normally consider one. Let me know and I will happily advise.
Regards.

Its... ste-cee@hotmail.co.uk.
If you haven't already ordered leaflets, I have a great, cost effective idea for you that prevents the 5 letters, 2 pizza and 1 leaflet thing most households are used to. Not ever tried it but very interested in using it in the future and would love for someone to try it and let me know the result...will let you know in the email.
frankybadboy - Good advice but if your a one man band, delivering 1,000 leaflets a week isn't going to build your business up too quick. Also he's looking at a company.

go solo, are you that busy you cant deliver them yourself?

Who wants to deliver leaflets? If your earning £500+ a week why would you work for something you could pay £50 for and than go out and earn £100 whilst he/she gains you work? No brainier really!
Franky - Good point, great to outsource rather than a company, but the 'people' you hire have probs never delivered before, they may say 'yer I will do that', but when there 50-75% through there day they will give up!
If you have the time, get a team of 4, you go out also and crack on! That is the best way, there motivated, worrying about having the 'boss' about and they will do the job, don't pay em cheap! Its not fair, its a horrible job so you have to pay at least £6 an hour which is around 120 leaflets.

I had an email from a member today with the same design, never heard of it but very impressed with who ever came up with the idea! Good stuff! 8)
So I would suggest you have the design right because it is mint!
I would like to read what you would personally write on this flyer than I will get back to you with improvements.
Because it is such a quirky design, you have to be quirky with the sales copy. Making them smile will really help and I guess your half way there with the confusion which can easily lead to 'What?' than 'Oh, hehe' Which will deffo keep the reader glued!
;)

firstly STE I said Are you that busy you cant deliver them yourself?
IF you are busy during the day why cant you deliver for 2 hours every evening???? its dark at 5.30pm
Secondly a good leaflet can build a round up at a rate of 1000 a week if you know what you are doing?? trust me ;D
-
True, it really depends where this guy is at and what he is looking for.
If delivering 1,000 a week you COULD get 10 clients a week, 40 a month.
Good news...
BUT to be fair this is/can be optimistic, best to go at 0.5% (being good still) so 20 a month, £200 extra (if £10 a clean) working 2 hours a day in evening, 10 a week and 40 a month.
Why not pay someone £50 per 1,000 to do that = £200. Would save YOU working the most horrible 2 hours of your career for £5 an hour!
That is the reality...
-
i'd rather deliver myself when its not a good day or evenings!
plus you get the chance to look at the houses to see whether to follow up by door knocking!
Also you will get to ask people there and then if they have a window cleaner!
-
if you give them a street map to colour in as they go and never let them do more than 3 hours in 1 stint it usually works well . in my experience most like doing it and i just pay mine hourly and tell them to walk at normal pace ,no rushing is needed
-
Agree with this
Someone that says he'd pay 50 quid a thousand yet he's scrounging 300 to start window cleaning.
Ste X
With the best will in the world, mate, you don't even have a round, so giving advice as direct as this is more than a little dodgy.
The response would be low, 5,000 leaflets COULD get you 50 quotes, could get you 25, at worsed you would get 10 customers but possible.
has no basis whasoever in your experience, as you don't even have a round to base it on
And
Also never go solus, pointless.
flies in the face of every bit of advice and knowledge in the direct mail industry.
-
lol I have lots of experience in marketing various ways, leaflets being my main source of income at one point!
You can't pay someone £25, hourly rate of like £3...its a joke! You want good results? You have to pay for em!
£50 for a one man band, £75 to a company who takes there cut and pays staff well or you are throwing money away.
Also I did not say I would pay £50 a 1,000...I wouldn't use leaflets for a window cleaning business, your clients would be too spread out...
Plus you have to deliver or pay to have someone deliver THAN you have to wait for calls, talk, go around give a quote. All this cost's money and takes time (time is money)
So just door knock, give a quote there and than and even arrange a suitable time to clean. No brainer!!!
You can say what you want about 'scrounging' money, its not that at all! I am helping other members out with quality stuff they need at a great rate! Which is than helping me out...

Thanks for the replies it's a good read but does anybody have any recent results from a leaflet drop??
as this was what I was interested in.
-
Hi guys,
Im usually over on the General Cleaning board, but im looking at printing up some flyers for my Pressure Washing business, im intrigued with these ''while you were out'' type flyers.
Could anyone email me over a copy of the template? Would this design ven work for a Pressure Washing business?
Cheers
Matt

Average results are useless... If someone posted and said they got 1.5% response, you will expect that when its not going to be anywhere near the same as someone else. To many factors involved which will effect the outcome!
How many are being delivered?
What is the design like?
What is written?
How can they contact you?
Does the street already have a cleaner?
What kind of houses are they?
How recently has the area been built?
Hope for 0.5% and see what happens....
;)
Matt...send me an email and I will forward a template I received yesterday.
Regards.
