Title: Bar benches
Post by: The Great One on February 18, 2011, 03:59:13 pm
Hi All

As you all know I am a dry CC.

I went to quote this morning for some benches that go round a bar (against the wall) they are different colours, from stripey to an embossed red and the backs are those deep studded ones.

I will be using a HWE method (kindly borrowed)

Without a dryer any ideas on drying times and any other issues you may think of (bleed etc)

Thanks

in a bar they will be tough and bullet proof (but still test) dry time will be 6-8hrs without airmovers & good ventilation.

I would use a low moisture tool and give them a good towelling off to try and get as much moisture out as possible.

even pre-spray then agitate with a towel and try and remove as much of the top dirt off as possible before your even hit it with the extraction

Some good posts above martin.

When i do this sort of job i try and take my turbo dryers and set them at the same height as the upholstery to get them on there way drying..ie sit the dryers on  a table or high stool ..

After cleaning plenty of vacuum only passes then Towel
Air movers would then be a bonus.

Good Luck

Hi guys

Many thanks for the advice, took my upholstery course 7 years ago and done one hand clean sofa in ll that time.

As it's in a small hotel I only have a 2 hour window so may need to be done in 2 sittings (opps, pun) they are quite large benches, some with corners, some are fla, some have those deep pinned recesses.

Oneil, thanks for that offer, will take you up on that should they accept the price ;)

I have some ultrapac, so will deff use that and I can imagine the beer, swaet and other bodily juices on those benches  :o

Thanks Guys

Hi

She agreed today and will speak with her on Thursday to arrange a date to go in, as they only have a 2 hour window I will do them in 2 sittings (oops, pun), some of the seats are removable so will do those in a back room and put the drier on them, while I do the backs.

How busy are you as to free dates to borrow the drier, do you also have a spare HWE??

Regards
