Title: Black SLX hands.

Post by: Llaaww on February 17, 2011, 08:22:42 pm: You need to clean the pole down thoroughly now and again. I live near the coast so sand is a potential problem. I close the pole and stuff a hose in the hole at the bottom and let it run for a while to rinse out the grit and dust.

I rarely get black hands.

Mind, my slx is 3 years old so I can forgive a bit of wear! ;D

I don't get it with the base section as it suffers no friction. It's all the other sections.

Post by: TDW on February 18, 2011, 07:34:38 pm: I buy a set of gul gloves from gardiner and wear only one. When that wears out i turn the other inside and use that one. For some reason i cant stand wearing 2 soggy gloves but i dont mind just wearing one.

Post by: ptwt on February 19, 2011, 08:58:08 am: when my hands start getting black from the slx i re spray it with several coats of clear car body lacqure or give it a coating of varnish . I also give it a spray with silicone spray every few days it does the trick for me.

Try some barrier cream on your hands. ;)
