Ian do you consider your videos to be 'marketing' or 'sales tools'
do they actually bring in enquiries or views to your website or do they help sell your services once people are already on your website
I think videos would be good at converting website views into calls but they don't create the initial contact onto my website. ( apart from how they help SEO)

Ian As you know I am impressed by your videos
and I hope they help to establish you as the local or national expert
As Mike says do they turn into money, the reason I ask is in one I noticed you were offering to clean a room in Colchester for I think £20 I think you may have taken it down now

Over 1800 plays and 0 likes. So how many jobs did these videos get. I have watched some of them myself and Ok they are quite good but the as others have said "Do these videos actually create business for you?"

Monty
he may have disable comments on the videos so people can't comment or vote

I wonder what the figures would be if you removed all visits by other carpet cleaners and non revenue generating visitors?

Guys
i posted a list of social sites some time ago by having content in this case video on these types of sites will bring people into your sites. its the soft sell. JP's positioning as Ian has pointed out. some google search results bring up video results on the main page given that its easier to watch than read for some this has to improve anyones positioning.
Plus you canlink back and forth from info sites to hard sell sites.
Its just another tool in marketing and Mike is not selling. Mind you I do think you have to tell people that you can do the job if they dont want.
As I have said info has to be infomrative or fun on social networks.
And the easy part is that most of these videos are made by other people. I would like to see many more from people selling to us on the benfits of their machines and products. then it would just be a case of plugging their videos into our sites. after all its in their interest to produce them.
Just look at any product line and you will many products that many cleaners dont market this way and in not doing might be missing out on work. odour control is just one area. stain removers another, eco products, etc
here are two great examples

The world recond custard pie fight is another great example

Stuart
If you go to www.Woolsafe.org you will be able to check if I am a Woolsafe approved operator and then you can decide if you need to report me to the authorities ??? I find your post a bit insulting :)

Iam sorry if you felt insulted by my comment, but there were a few guys in my area using the logo willy nilly, withought 1st having the training or paying the yearly subscription!
Its just after i had undergone my woolsafe training just over ten years ago and paying my yearly subscription i was known as a woolsafe certified opperater and that what it said in the woolsafe logo! but as i said i diddnt mean to offend i was merely asking you if you were a member ?

took me 10 seconds to find nigel on the woolsafe website.

amazed that anyone would even question Nigel's integrity
