Title: what would you do with this job
Post by: erithwc on February 11, 2011, 04:18:52 pm
just had a call for residential window cleaning job the job is a 1st floor maisonette, the guy was telling me that he had to let the old window cleaner go due to insuracne issues with the person that lives down stairs, he has asked me to bring my insurance policy with me when i come so that he can show it to the lady downstairs.

is it me or am i better off just telling him to find someone else i think its going to be a lot of hassle with a picky lady down stairs :)

Personally I'd give it a wide berth, I've only had one domestic customer show an interest in my insurance cover and he quickly accused me of scratching a pane of glass!

the hassle isn't with carrying the insurance with me it's the fact that the customer has already got rid of one traditional window cleaner due to insurance issues and now the customer wants to see  my policy so he can show the lady down stairs.

i get the feeling that it could be a funny insurance claim or moaning pick lady that live downstairs.

Spot on, ignore gut instincts at your peril. I have done it a few times and regretted it after.

Tell them both to get st  ffff as you do not need to be insured  anyway.

I do have two coustomers who actualy hold on file coppys of my insurane but the job is nothing to do with cleaning and trade are actualy not allowed in the place without insurance. but just to stop someone nagging. Hummmm
