Good point Dai..one of my custies saw me driving my Scooby and I always get comments off them now ..ie we're paying you too much etc etc
-
I have had a Cayman before and a boxter and used to bump into customers all the time at the local petrol station haha! ;D I used to say it wasnt mine lol
-
Nice car Lee, well done.
Its good to see somebody doing well, thats what its all about.
-
Nice one mate! Id love to go collecting in that, "thats £6 please" ;D
Why not let people see you in it, you work hard and obvioulsy good at what you do...or you wouldnt have a porka!
-
sadly i dont really have a personal relationship with my customers these days as I have worked in my office for the last 2 years and dont really clean anymore unless someone is off sick or we are behind. I have never met most of my customers and when I am cleaning I just let them think im one of the cleaning staff.
Its one of the things I miss about being on my own as you could almost call some customers friends after a few years.
-
Looks like a fantastic car lee.
Ive thought at buying a porsche but the insurance is eye watering for me.
Just goes to show what rewards you get for hard work
Keep it up
Danny
-
The insurance is £900 for the year.
I was 25 when I bought my first one, it wasnt alot more than that
-
Well done Lee. I would get one too but i'm saving up for a Zonda :)

-
I really appreciate the kind comments guys.
Anyone can do it!
I started my business in 2003 with £200 and knowone to teach me anything and no forum to ask for help on, I just made it all up as I went along. I had never done a manual job or even been up a ladder untill my first day.
The one thing I am glad of is that right from the start I approached it as a business not a job. IMO that mindset makes all the difference
I always concentrate on 2 things 100% of the time
1 keep the customer happy
2 make as much money as possible

I am interested in the online busiess for buying and selling customers. How will it work?? Is there a link to another thread on here about it??
-
this is a pilot business for this year and will only be in surrey and sussex as it is costing a small fortune and is new and un-proven.
If successful I have an investor to take it to a national level in 2012 at which time ful details will be given on the forum

Hi Lee
I dont think you should have bought this car, rather i think you should have invested the money into a leaflet
campaign and maybe into new and innovative marketing campaigns for us! :)
seriously nice one, not much use to me though with two kids and two dogs, looking at discovery
cheers

Some great and funny replys there.
West sussex within 15 miles of gatwick
As for keeping my finger on the pulse I have found that running things past the accountant is good practice in the long term.

Is it possible to offset part of it against your tax bill?
Things like visiting certain clients to do quotations - the sort of clients where you don't want to turn up in a van?
-

sweet man, its nice to have some pressies with your hard earned.
-
I like it but whatever you do, do not go round collecting in it, if your custies see it they might think you are charging too much and look elsewhere!
-
that'd be petty
-
that'd be petty
It may be petty but I know a guy who went collecting in his bentley once and lets just say he didn't use it twice, jealousy is a nasty thing or dare I say a petty thing
